Council member Woods. >> Second. >> Second. Council member McKenzie. All those in favor say I. I. I. Thank you very much. Meeting open to the public. John Small, >> thanks for the heads up email. >> Oh, John. >> Yeah, I will refer to it. Uh, John Shamal, 2750 Chisum Avenue. Uh first item is that uh last meeting I wanted just to scream out no when the uh community development coordinator whatever his name is uh or position is said that Casey Lake was really uh a wetland. It wasn't a lake and you can go check the record. He that's what he said. And I went through holy hell about 10 years ago. And mayor, you might have been on the planning commission when the change in the classification of the lakes was put into the uh record of ordinances. And uh what happened then is that they changed and it was correct per the state, but they should have done some research that uh there's only six people on the lake. And so the change that was implemented, it would have been nice for someone to have given six people a call for this dramatic change. And that is the setback from 75 ft to 150 ft, which meant if that was going to be the the uh new ordinance would have meant that uh the setback would be in my front yard. And so my uh my footprint of my house would have to be the footprint of my house because it would be in violation to change the footprint or to hire an attorney to get something else done. So luckily this uh uh there is a person in North St. Paul that I know that is a retired DNR person who got me in touch with the top echelon without having to search and we had uh the information coming from the um from the DNR that it wasn't intended that it be applied to present day uh houses that have been there before the change. So that was a tremendous relief, but it was not fun going through that trying to find someone. Second item is uh that uh yellow strip that there was caution on going from Msabi down to Gerald. Someone put that uh ribbon up. very nice of them doing it because that's the area where the new uh sidewalk met the old sidewalk. And I had checked with the city engineer about uh is that too much of a grade? No, it's just fine a grade. Yeah, that's a fine grade, but when you have a bank at about a 25 degree angle with snow on it melting, water goes down on that sidewalk. I've never noticed that before in my 50 years of living here, but how something that they did caused a problem. And I just have a one more is parking. And uh maybe you could put in the uh newsletter that it's not nice to park over a sidewalk. And on Chisum Avenue last week, I'm driving home and there is a trailer with its tongue on the boulevard from the house totally blocking the sidewalk. And I noticed for the first time in my time at the uh living there that there was actually a vehicle that had a plow drift going around it. So, I've never seen that before. Not since I lived in St. Paul. >> Yeah. >> And the times >> and uh uh I had to call uh uh code enforcement to try to figure out what who police or code enforcement and McKenzie said on the property we take it. If it's on the road, the police take it. >> So, that was it. And then after that, there was another vehicle that parked on the uh over the sidewalk in the same week. So, where are these people coming from? Where is their brain power? Thank you. >> Thanks, John. >> All right. Next, city business, please. U no city business action items, but we'll move into reports from city manager and departments. So, we had uh staff meeting today. Um updates from electric. They got crews that are going to be working around the uh Northwood Park area. They're going to be upgrading some wiring that's in there from open wire to a larger triplex wire for that area for project they got going. uh communications has also been working with community development and they're preparing um communications for the April and May as uh Candid mentioned about the garage sale and trash to treasure day and citywide cleanup event. Uh she's also working on an updating uh our alert map um so we can reach out to more people for whether or not it's water main breaks or power outages or what have you. Um finance has got the auditors coming next week. Dan's been very busy with that. doing a great job. Um they also have that posting put up for Jackie's position which uh will be an internal posting. They'll try first and if they don't get anything they'll go to the outside. Um her last day is May 22nd. Uh police has been had their uh body camera audit last Friday about six long hours in with that. Uh turned out really good. They had good feedback. Um they have police offer officer posting up for another three weeks. Um community services or community service officer was hired and is in place and will be in field training uh until March 13th. They've got the uh roof closed in um and Burwwell was over there roofing it today. I don't know if they get a chance to finish up. They probably got a couple days left over there. Lots of peaks and valleys. Um road weight restrictions went into place on Monday. Um they'll be updated as needed when the weather turns. See uh how things dry out. Uh two crews have been out uh doing tree trimming including ashtree removals. Uh this as he Ron said that the street sweeper is out. um getting as much as the city as they can while the weather allows and they'll be posting here the next week or two um looking for their summer help positions that are going to be open up. Uh fire is going to be back at the training center for engineer training and live burn exercises here coming up this month. Um EMT is completing uh national certificate uh renewals and they're getting code compliance transitioning to the spring preparations getting ready to go for that. Um also the access control system is pending some final parts. They've been busy. They're just waiting for some parts and connections to come in to kind of finish that up, but that's moving along nicely. um community development, they have um the Casey Lake Park project grant was submitted last week. So, they're waiting for feedback from them to see if they need anything additional. Um as he talked about the solid waste RFPs um and the scheduling of the new uh cleanup day and the that process coming up. That's all I have for you. >> Thank you very much. All right. reports from council commissioners committees. >> Sher parks didn't meet last month due to lack of quorum. >> Okay. Thank you. Our EDA meets next Tuesday at 4 o'clock in here chamber. >> Thank you. >> Arts and culture commission uh meet tomorrow night here in uh council chambers. >> Planning commission. >> Planning commission meets this Thursday um at 6:30. >> Very much. Any general business for anybody? >> No. >> Oh, >> I I would just like to say that our next um city council meeting um happens to be on St. Patrick's Day and for those of you that are going to choose to celebrate, please make sure you do in a safe, responsible manner. I did um correct me, but I think um historical society Monday, the day before our council meeting, March 16th, they're doing an event at uh at their location. So, day before our next meeting, if I remember correctly, they're um kind of when they open up for the summer. >> Yep. That that's where they start open up. They got an event going on and I'm almost positive it's it's um the day before our meeting March 16th. So keep an eye on the newsletter for that because that's always a fun event to go to for the historical society. All right. He did. >> Yep. EDA. All right. If nothing else, motion to adjurnn please. >> So moved. >> So moved. Council member Woods. >> Second. >> Second. Council member Norby. All those in favor say I. I. >> Thank you. >> Thank you.
