thank you and welcome again to the Mesa city council meeting for Monday October the 2nd of 2023 uh all of our council is present with Mr uh Heredia our vice mayor participating via Zoom uh we will begin this meeting with an invocation offered by Pastor Derek Elliot with desert Heritage Church Pastor thank you for your patience we appreciate you staying online with us for a moment uh following the uh the prayer we will be led in the Pledge of Allegiance by senior we weblow Den p 653 so please stand for the invocation and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance I'm sorry Pastor would you please I think you might need to unmute will you pray with me in your tradition as I pray in mine gracious God as we gathered here tonight we ask for your guidance and wisdom bless each member of this city council with the clarity and discernment to make decisions that uplift our community and serve the greater good May their discussion be rooted in respect their intentions be pure and their action be just let us draw upon the Timeless wisdom the first shall be last and the last shall be first oh God remind us that in our roles we are called not just to lead but to serve and that true leadership means placing the needs of our community above our own knowing that in lifting up the least among us we Elevate our Tower City this is our share of Hope and grant us this grant to face the challenges that lies ahead oh God bless our city its residents and those who work Faithfully for its betterment of Mesa where every individual field seen heard and valued may we remember our duty to
