I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Welcome and Happy New Year, and let the roll reflect we have a quorum and a full council tonight. Um, councilmembers, are there any corrections or additions to the December 18th meeting? Okay. Comments from the audience.
[0:57] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** At this time we would hear comments from the audience or via Zoom if anyone would like to speak to the Council at this time. Anyone wishing to speak to the Council? Okay. Council, I would accept—uh, see if there's any um, items to be considered. Council, I would accept a motion for the consent agenda.
[1:19] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** Councilmember Leifeld? Councilmember Lawrence? Any discussion, Council? Okay. All those in favor of the motion, state by saying aye.
[1:30] **Councilmembers:** Aye.
[1:32] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** Those opposing to the statement uh, motion, state by saying nay. That motion prevails. We have no reports tonight under any of the public um, departments.
[1:42] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** And councilmembers, are there any announcements? Councilmember Fox?
[1:44] **Councilmember Fox:** Thank you, your honor. Um, I just want to make sure that everyone knows about the ice sculpture um, event in downtown Hastings on January 20th. It will be from, uh, I believe it's 11:00 to 4:00, um, hosted by the Downtown Business Association. We'll have um, the artist Tom Schiller carving a four- to six-foot-tall uh, sculpture in Oliver's Grove and um, a DJ and many other things going on. So please come downtown and keep supporting your local businesses throughout the winter season. Thank you.
[2:23] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** Thank you, Councilmember Fox. Anyone else? Okay, I do have a couple. The ice fishing adventure at Lake Rebecca has been cancelled for this Saturday due to the thin ice conditions. City offices will be closed Monday, January 15th, in recognition of Martin Luther King Day. And recycle your old lights with the Hastings Holiday Lights drop-off collection; and that is at the maintenance facility building at 920 10th Street West. Meetings coming forward are: Monday, January 8th, we have a Planning Commission meeting at 7:00 p.m.
[2:59] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** A Public Safety Committee meeting at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10th, we have an Arts and Culture Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 11th, we have a HEDRA meeting at 6:00 p.m. And Tuesday, January 16th, we do have a council meeting at 7:00 p.m. No workshop, Council. So with that, I would accept a motion to adjourn.

[3:42] **Councilmembers:** Aye.
[3:43] **Mary Fasbender (Mayor):** Opposed to that motion, state by saying nay. And we are adjourned. That's a record for us, I think.
