Jenny, at the end, can you help me get my mail? I forgot my key. >> Oh, of course. >> Thanks. >> Okay, we're getting a thumb up from the booth. So, at 6:30, I'll call the meeting to order. If everyone could please stand for the pledge of allegiance. Pledge >> allegiance >> to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you, Jenny, if you kindly do the roll call. >> Council member Woods >> here. >> Council member McKenzie >> here. >> Council member Schwear >> here. Mayor Mongi is absent. Acting Mayor Nordby >> here. >> Do I have a motion to approve the agenda? >> So moved. >> Council member Schwer. So moved. >> I'll second. >> Second by council member McKenzie. All those in favor say I. >> I. I. >> The agenda is approved. There are no presentations. Is there anything anyone would like to pull from the consent agenda today? >> Hearing no desire to pull anything. Do I have a motion to approve the consent agenda? >> So moved. >> Uh so moved. Council member Schwar. >> Second. >> Second. Council member McKenzie. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> The agenda is approved. Next we have meeting open to the public. Uh John Schwall. Hey John. Evening uh council mayor, acting mayor. Um this is just uh something that caused by uh looking out your my uh kitchen window and looking at the lake and seeing uh a coyote and wanting to uh get a picture of it to be prove that this actually happened. And it takes a while to wait for a coyote to come back again and then not uh have motion that drives them away and you don't walk around with the camera attached to you all the time while looking out the window from your kitchen window. Anyway, uh I wanted to pass on that information because those people with the little fluffy mop dogs get attacked by this. So, how do I get information? No, we'll go to open gov and uh choose what is available in open gov. And one of them is uh item of concern. And so you put in item of concern and it shows that it's going to the police department. Well, come on now. The police has got other things to do than than this. But this is what's available to you, so you do it. And uh I did get a phone call because I asked for a phone call and this uh woman from the police department uh called and uh I what do you what do I want? And I said well I just want information to go out there. Well uh and how would that be done? And I said, 'Well, you got open gov and you got the, you know, the the city that you can put this on a website and let them know that there's a problem out there. Well, I don't have access to open gov was the answer from the person from the police department. I said, "Okay, that's great." And she suggested, "Well, why don't you make a Facebook posting uh posting?" And I'm sorry, I don't do Facebook. So that was the end of the story at this and in the meantime uh there was another posting that I have to look at because I have a Ring doorbell and it's part of the pro process that you get all these messages of people who are seeing things. So what do I do? Well, I guess we just drop it and go on. But there was a an item about someone making a posting on the ring about their dog that they were walking that was almost snatched by a coyote. So anyway, uh I failed and I didn't make a Facebook posting and I'm not going to make a Facebook posting, but um I'm here to say if you got a little mop, there's coyotes out there and they don't they like those little doggies. Well, anyway, that's my story for Oh, 2750 Chisum Heaven. Who knows? >> Thanks, John. >> Thanks, John. >> Is it Genie Sin? >> Yes. >> Okay. Genie sin. I'm 94 years old. >> I appreciate it that take your time >> for accommodating us. >> And I forgot to bring the slip that the lady left that I'm here because I got a uh for the third time a complaint that I could not have a vehicle parked in the area in my driveway that I have been parking vehicles for. I lived have lived in this house for 72 years and we didn't own that propert that that side but it's at least 50 years and um the thing is we I own uh two regular lots plus 63 ft. the 63 ft came about because when you put the road in there was a little excess um footage. So they tacked it on to the because >> Mhm. >> Um my property was the only one there. Anyway, I have nine children, seven boys. And when the boys were going to school and uh maturing into wanting their own vehicles, we put an area uh inside our because ours only has a one driveway entry. >> Mhm. and the uh the lot that is so the the it would park two vehicles side by side and that was like I said 50 years ago. It doesn't often have a vehicle parked there now because my boys are gone and my daughter and I I I don't drive anymore. But I have this large family and and I have a lot of company including, you know, all all my sons. I've got 28 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. There's a lot of traffic at our house. And now for the third time I the your your officer that >> she said she told me that I should come to the council >> and ask for um a variance. Is that the word she used? >> Variance. >> Okay. >> Genie, do you mind providing us your address? Um >> well, what what I was going to say is you provided your phone number. Are you good with me giving their phone number to the city manager Brian Fandal and having him personally contact you so we can figure out the right way to proceed with this? >> Yes, because I I I want to get it over with. >> Right. >> I lived on that same street. >> I I grew up I was 5 years old when I moved into the house on the corner which I I'm assuming a fireman who owns that house now. And I um >> but yeah, so so I I will I have your phone number here. I will give it to city manager Frandle and expect to call either tomorrow or the next day and we'll go from there. >> Okay. And do you think that >> there there's going to be a lot more details he's going to need to know and stuff like that where I with with the the information we're getting here, we we we can't grant a variance just with this information. There's a process. um so he can start you down the right road. >> Okay. Well, okay. So, I will hear from >> Yep. Yep. further from you. >> Yeah. >> I appreciate that. Thank you. No problem. >> Thank you so much. >> Congratulations on such a large family. >> Yeah. Well, I'm very proud of my family. Oh, Jenny, I totally skipped reading everyone, but oh well. >> What's that? >> I just realized I totally skipped reading every title. >> That's okay. >> Okay, >> no problem. >> Um, so next we have um there's no more meeting open to the public. Um, city business actions and items and recommendations. >> We have none. >> Okay. Reports of city managers and departments. >> I have nothing to uh give tonight. >> Uh reports of council commissions and committees. >> Well, given the holidays were here, we did not have parks and recreation. The next meeting will be uh I apologize. I had it up on the calendar. January 28th here at 6:30 in council chambers. uh EDA won't meet until March. The only thing uh that I did forget to say at the last council is we did have the recognition for all the city employees and it was very nice turnout and everyone had a nice time. So >> awesome. >> Thanks. >> Uh Arts and Culture Commission, uh our next meeting is tomorrow night here in council chambers. >> Awesome. Um the planning commission meets here on this coming Thursday at 6:30. >> Um general business. >> Um I understand that it was posted through North St. Paul's history cruisers that they are moving to every other week for the car show. I encourage the community to come and uh talk to council at the next council meeting on January 20th to discuss a little bit further on why uh this choice has been made. And I encourage uh those to bring their um opinions to the table as well as if you have social media make social media aware on the history cruisers of your feelings towards that. I know that there are very strong feelings out there about that. Um, and with a full council and city manager, I encourage those individuals come. >> Well said. >> And I also agree and um hopefully we can get uh Mr. Fabio and Mr. Vancanite in and we can have a uh nice discussion about this maybe on the next meeting. Thank you. I've got nothing to add. >> Um I I I would agree with my fellow council members up here. I look forward to a robust conversation um to see if what the correct path forward is. And I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. On that note, do I have a call for adjournment? >> So moved. >> So moved. Council member Schwar. >> Second. >> Second. Council member Mackenzie. All those in favor say I. I. I. Thank you everyone.
