March 18th 2024 no action is needed today following that ordinances for second reading um director Holmes if you will read the caption for item number 11 item number 11240 11128 in ordinance by council member Byron D amus to impose a moratorium on the acceptance of any application for special administrative permit or building permit for which a special administrative permit has not been applied for including land disturbance permits for any property located in an R5 zoning District within the Home Park neighborhood for a period not to exceed 6 months and for other purposes Harry thank you Mr chair uh DJ Terry Chief of Staff the council member by our name is in District 3 I did want to come to speak on behalf of this item as council member is traveling um this would be a moratorium for building permits within the R5 zoning District in the Home Park neighborhood and so this item would specifically address um an over proliferation of purpose-built homes that are designed to house students in home park if you're not familiar home park is immediately west of Georgia Tech and so it is a neighborhood that has individuals who are coming in and building overwhelmingly large structures next to very small older homes and so um the H Park neighborhood association couldn't be here today they asked that we speak in favor of this item um this this is something that would address um systemically ignored stop work orders and so I just want to thank project manager Mr David Thompson and and directory Gregor director Gregory Pace um in the office of zoning because they have um on Friday actually Wednesday uh we had someone to call our office about stop work order being issued and and actually asked them to issue a stop work order they did get a team out there on Friday to issue a stop work order but however the stock workor order was ignored um there was continued work throughout the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and so this ordinance will provide relief to home park for at least 6 months while we work on getting ordinance 2401 1093 which is in cdhs P um very any questions I'll take those but if not thank you Mr chair thank you any south side of deor Ferry Road and transfer it to property located at 215 West wuka Road Northwest AKA Chastain Park Avenue receiving prop property fronting approximately 1100 ft on the northwest side of West wuka Road Northeast commencing at the intersection of the Westerly rway of West wuka Road with the center line of Dudley Lane authorizing the mayor or his designed to execute all documents necessary to accept the donation of approximately 2.5 acres of real property located at 2400 deor Ferry Road North East from Galloway at Woodall Creek LLC to be maintained as green Spaces by the par
