second motion by matson second by hema all in favor aye [2:49] **Commission Members**: aye [2:49] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay uh public input no one has signed up this evening for uh public input so we're going to skip that we'll move on to the public hearing uh item a consideration of an ordinance of the city of cannon falls minnesota amending city code 152 relating to conditional uses in the b2 highway business district i don't know diane or neal which let's take that start [3:35] **Diane Johnson**: i can give you just a little bit of background on this we were approached by a couple different potential businesses um one on the automotive side and one on the truck terminal side and they were wondering about being able to do these businesses conduct these businesses in the city of cannon falls and right now we do not have i have to be careful how i word this we do have conditional use permits for auto sales but we don't have permitted uses for auto sales and a lot of times if you go to other cities red wing hastings rochester you will see auto sales along the main highway corridor so we were wondering if this would be [4:22] **Diane Johnson**: something that would be agreeable with the planning commission with the council and that's kind of where we're bringing it forward along with the truck terminals [4:22] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay all right with that i will open the public hearing anybody wishes to address this subject [4:48] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: i was going to say i hope you were going to bob [4:48] **Bob (Public Participant)**: yeah i i haven't met the people that that uh are purchasing it yet so actually diane you have or at least the agent [4:48] **Diane Johnson**: yep yep i did meet them and because they wanted us to deal with you as a city to get it rezoned or become something more solid than what it's described as now i believe conditional use yes um you're all familiar with do you have a packet i take it on on where it's at with the truck terminals right now they're allowed in the i2 [5:35] **Diane Johnson**: and not in the b2 so that would be a you know adding that into the b2 that's that would be an addition that we don't have right now in the b2 right [5:35] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: which on the on the map you've given us is the uh kind of the orange the orange at the bottom area is the b2 [5:35] **Bob (Public Participant)**: that's correct yep [5:35] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: and you're selling some land to these folks [5:35] **Bob (Public Participant)**: yes it's 11 acres there between 52 and the rear frontage road i guess i call it [5:35] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay are they buying or leasing [5:35] **Bob (Public Participant)**: buying [Music] okay anything else you want to say on this or just um [6:21] **Bob (Public Participant)**: not really i guess the truck terminal bill would still be under a conditional use so the governing bodies would still have rule over how they'd be set up just so you're aware but that would be true for both truck and the auto right right so it's written yep so if there's something that you know when somebody proposes a business that doesn't look right or that you would like amended or changed you will have that power with the conditional use because it would come to you first right yeah okay all right thanks bob uh you can i'm sorry they're busy are there buildings involved [7:07] **Commission Member**: uh are they going to build are there buildings on the land now [7:07] **Bob (Public Participant)**: okay so just the open lot there okay and that's i just wasn't sure thanks [7:07] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay all right thanks bob uh has anybody else wish to address uh this issue third and final call hearing none i will close the public hearing the discussion item on on this ordinance i assume diane this is a as we find things out we're correcting our our zoning [7:07] **Diane Johnson**: exactly yeah right okay [7:52] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: anybody uh on the commission uh have any comments nope okay what just uh we're all set for utilities and all that along there right up to the to the lot okay um hearing no other comments i'll make a motion to accept the ordinance language as presented and forward this consideration for the council we have a second [7:52] **Commission Member Morris**: second [7:52] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay a second by morris uh any other comments if not all in favor aye [7:52] **Commission Members**: aye [7:52] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: okay passes four nothing all right um [8:41] **Chair (Planning Commission)**: next uh item uh is uh does anybody on commission have any comments in general on anything nope hearing none
