[0:45] [Music] Did you get it? >> Yeah, I got it. >> You didn't open the internet last week. >> It's weird. >> It's weird. Okay. Are you ready?
[1:02] >> Good evening. I'd like to call the regular city council meeting for Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 to order. Please rise and join me in the pledge of allegiance. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
[1:27] Are there any additions or corrections to the agenda? >> No, sir. >> Seeing none, I'll move the agenda. Roll, please. >> Oh, I'm sorry. Uh, all in favor signify by saying I. >> I. >> I. >> Opposed. We have an agenda this evening.
[1:42] We have no presentations, proclamations, acknowledgements. We have no response to public comment. And we'll move to public comment. Anyone wishing to speak before council may do so at this time. Please state your name, address, and any comments. Recognizing that there are no residents other than our fire chief in the audience, uh we'll close public hearing and we'll move to the consent agenda this evening. We have bill listings, minutes for the August 19th regular meeting, tort liability insurance limits, application to conduct offsite gambling for the Irish football team, approval for quick claim deed for a rural well site, donation acceptance by the Rosemont Fire Department
[2:30] for the recently acquired $1,000 from Quick Trip. We have an Adams first edition action and a professional consulting services agreement for Speedway demolition. Is there any any one wish to pull anything? If not, >> n uh would someone like to move the consent agenda for approval?
[2:53] >> I'll move the consent agenda items 6A through 6H. >> I'll second. >> Have a motion and second. Uh motion by >> Esler. >> Esler and second by Fresky. Roll please.
[3:08] >> Esler >> I. >> Weisensel >> I. >> Fres I. >> That completes item six uh 30. We have this evening no public hearings, no unfinished business. We're up to announcements. City staff updates, please.
[3:26] >> Thank you, mayor. Uh we got to us so quickly here. I don't think I'm prepared for a bunch of announcements tonight and the only thought I had was to to give you a chance to I know you had a chance to speak at the opioid awareness event um the candlelight vigil on Sunday evening. So I just wanted to maybe give the mic back to you to make a comment on that if you were interested.
[3:45] >> Yeah, certainly. Um this past Sunday evening uh held a vigil outside uh the steeple center. Uh our steeple center was lit up in purple for uh for the event. And uh we had our one of our local residents, Jackie Young, who serves on the county uh committee for uh drug awareness and education.
[4:10] And uh it was uh well attended actually for being the first thing and something that we plan on continuing in the future. and it was in recognition of uh those that had lost uh some of their loved ones uh over the years uh due to fentanyl and uh drug overdoses. So um quite a moving time and it was uh like I said well received I think for our first first attempt at that.
[4:37] >> So so with that we'll move on to our calendar uh this evening we have our meetings. All right. Port Authority meeting is September 16th. Reading that right. From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the city hall uh followed by the city council member meeting uh from 7 to 8.
[5:01] And that is all that is coming up in the next couple of weeks. So with that, if there's no other business to come before council, I'll move to adjurnn. Is there a second? >> Second. >> All in favor signify by saying I. >> I. opposed. We are adjourned. Thank you.
[5:19] [Music] Hey, [Music] hey,
