Wichita City Council Agenda Review August 2, 2024
No description available.
e e e e e e would approve a two-year agreement
with SEIU employees um providing a 6% wage increase each of the two
years of the contract number two um do you know the number
of SEIU members currently out of our 3,000 Workforce
yes I believe I do it is 774 number two is your evening public hearing on
the operating budget which is the primary reason for having the meeting on uh Thursday number
three uh would approve uh million dollars for Traffic Safety improvements and traffic signal
upgrades around the city this is an annual program page three number four would approve
an $826,000 contract for the final design and construction of the realtime information center
and just to know that those costs will be Grant funded you have three items on non-consent
planning agenda the first item it is coming to you as a zone change in District 4
there's a difference between the MPC and the dab recommendations as well as
protest petitions that have been filed number two is a zone change in District
Six uh with a difference between mapc and dab recommendations and then on the next
page number three there's a zone change in District One there's a recommendation from
mapc there was not a recommendation from the dab excuse me and and there are protest
petitions that have been filed that's all I have on page four page five you have
a council member uh travel uh request on page six I don't have anything to highlight
there page seven 4A uh would continue four contracts that we have with um contract c s
for on Call repair work at the city's water treatment uh plant this would add uh two
one-year terms to the existing three-year agreement uh number excuse me 4B would approve a
contract for condition assessments of the city's storm water pump stations that's all I have
on that page on page eight number six would approve an OU with the District of Columbia for 40
commission police officers to assist with Public Safety duties during the 2025 inaugural event
um all expenses will be paid by uh District of Columbia uh we sent a team four years ago as
well that's all I have on page eight page nine uh number eight would approve the revised safety
plan for wiat Transit as required by the FDA and number nine is the sale of a surplus
property I just wanted to note that the sale price is actually higher than what the
city paid for the property on a square foot bases we need to do that more yeah yeah and I believe mayor that is all I have
to highlight for the eth can we go back to uh the inaugural tax task force yes is it Revenue neutral
as far as do we have to pay overtime here to to make up for those officers being gone um that's a
great question I'm going to assume that there will be some overtime that will be our expense don't
have anyone from police but I think um they try to so I understand it it's somewhat seniority based
but also trying to spread it across shifts I if I remember what the chief told me so I think trying
to keep it the impact minimal to us uh while the 40 officers are gone okay but I'm not quite sure
what the estimate would be for overtime costs okay okay that's it do we have any presentations
today uh no there's not so just again a reminder that the council meeting
will not be on Tuesday at 9: but rather again Thursday August 8th at 6: p.m.
with um public comment regarding the budget which will be the first public um comment full public
comment uh time uh for this upcoming budget any council member comments just one reminder
for everyone Tuesday as a primary go vote and just everyone should keep in prayer
as a fallen firefighter I mean 27's any age is young but 27 is really young
so keep him in our prayers and his family well thank you all very much thank you for
