Well, good morning everyone. Um, I am very excited. Um, this will be my first time u picking someone for our invocation. So, I'm so happy u to be able to present Miss Brooklyn Windborn who is going to do our invocation today. She is an ambitious and bright 8-year-old second grade student at Potter Elementary. She is a dedicated student who works hard in the classroom and shows kindness and respect to her teachers and classmates every day. Outside of school, Brooklyn is a very active in sports. She participates in cheerleading, softball, soccer, and flag football where she demonstrates teamwork, leadership, and determination. She aspires to become a police [clears throat] officer so she can serve her community. So, she is proud to represent her school and her generation of young leaders, and she is honored to have the opportunity to speak this morning. Good morning. >> Let's bow our head. >> Let's bow our heads. Dear heavenly father, thank you for this beautiful day and for bringing us together safely. Thank you for the people who serve our city and work hard to help Tampa grow and shine. Please give our mayor and city council members wisdom to make smart decisions, courage to stand up for what is right, and caring hearts to think about everyone in our community, children, families, seniors, and neighbors all across our city. Help them listen carefully, speak kindly, and work together with respect. When challenges come, give them patience. When choices are hard, give them clarity and in everything they do. Help them remember they are here to serve the people. Bless this meeting so it is peaceful, productive, and positive. Bless our first responders, our teachers, our workers, and every family in Tampa. Help us all do our part to make our city safe, strong, and full of hope. In your name we pray. Amen. >> Amen. >> That was probably [applause] >> Brooklyn. Can you say your name? >> Brooklyn McKenzie Wimborn. >> Nice. That was probably the best invocation we've ever had in city council since I've been here. THAT WAS [applause] >> And Potter Elementary is one of my favorite schools. I've had the opportunity to be up there several times to talk with the students up there. So, congratulations. Thank you for coming this morning. >> Would you want to lead us in the pledge of allegiance? >> Yes. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you very much, Brooklyn. Okay, that's setting the bar high for everybody today.
