GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO THE JULY 11TH MEETING OF THE BLOOMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION. THE PLANNING COMMISSION ADVISES THE CITY COUNCIL ON DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, LONG RANGE PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION ISSUES PLANNING COMMISSIONERS SERVE A YEAR TERM APPOINTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL WITH A TWO TERM LIMIT. FINAL DECISIONS ARE SOMETIMES MADE BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION AS WE FINAL DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY ON SOME ITEMS WHILE ON OTHER ITEMS WE ARE RECOMMENDING BODY AND THE CITY COUNCIL WILL MAKE THE FINAL DECISION. AND LIKE I SAID, KIRK WILL TALK ABOUT THE SCHOOL ZONE SPEED LIMIT PROJECT THAT IS UNDERWAY THAT WILL GO INTO EFFECT THIS YEAR AT THAT SCHOOL AREA. A LITTLE BIT MORE INFORMATION JUST ABOUT THE TRAFFIC DATA ON 102ND STREET. IT'S A FOUR LANE UNDIVIDED STREET POSTED SPEED LIMIT CURRENTLY IS 35. IT'S GOING TO BE DOWN TO 30 NOW WITH THE NEW SPEED LIMIT CHANGES, THE VOLUMES ARE 5000 AND ABOUT 7000 VEHICLES PER DAY AND CURRENTLY IS 85TH PERCENTILE. SPEEDS ARE BETWEEN 35 AND 38 MILES PER HOUR. SO THIS I KNOW IT'S LIKE PRETTY SMALL GRAPHIC JUST WANTED TO SHOW YOU THAT YOU KNOW WHEN WE OUR TRAFFIC STUDIES IS WHEN WE REALLY GET INTO THE DETAILS OF THE CRASH OUT OF THAT'S AVAILABLE BUT IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE DO MONITOR SO THIS IS THIS REPRESENTS TEN YEARS OF REPORTED CRASH DATA AND I'M NOT INCLUDING THE CRASHES IN THIS GRAPHIC THAT ARE AT FRANCE AVENUE AT FRENCH AVENUE THERE WERE 31 INCIDENTS IN THE TEN YEARS AT NORMANDY THERE WERE 37 IN THE TEN YEARS.
