[0:01] **Carly Van Daele:** [Music] Oh gosh. Going way way back, I I just I enjoyed doing it as a hobby and I did it for my friends for dances and weddings and special occasions. I never thought that I would do it as a career.
[0:23] **Carly Van Daele:** I come from a long background of, you know, working in corporate salons and stuff and I wasn't looking for it at the time, but the salon that was here before decided that they were ready to be done and so the owner of the building reached out to me and said that the location was available. It was already set up for a salon and it was now or never.
[0:44] **Carly Van Daele:** Ihana is actually Finnish word and it means wonderful, marvelous, fabulous, which is how we want our clients to feel. We are a collection of independent artists here. Kind of my goal with it was to have everyone here be able to own their own business, but at the same time have kind of that team feel to it. And all of my clients that are from this area have been amazing about referring friends and family. It's been the only reason I've been able to keep the place open. Really, it's fun. I get to be creative. I get to work with all my friends. A lot of my clients become like family.
