WE'RE HOPING TO REALLOCATE THE PLAN, REALLOCATE FUNDS TO DIFFERENT PROGRAMS IN THE CDBG AND HOME PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT MULTIFAMILY PRESERVATION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION AND THEN ALSO THE SAME FOR HOME FUNDS TO ALLOCATE PROGRAM INCOME AND TO ADD ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS NEW CONSTRUCTION AND MULTIFAMILY REHAB. THESE ARE THE PROPOSED AMOUNTS. WE DO HAVE SOME OUTSTANDING FUNDS FROM 17 ALL THE WAY UP TO PROGRAM YEAR 23 THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO REALLOCATE TO THE ACTIVITIES NOTED. TOTAL CDBG IS IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,716,416 AND THE SAME FOR HOME APPROXIMATELY $3.1 MILLION. THE NEXT SLIDE IS SOME OF THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES AND OUTCOMES THAT WE PROPOSED IN THE AMENDED PLAN, INCLUDING SOME SINGLE-FAMILY OWNER OCCUPIED REHAB AS MATCHED TO OUR HEALTHY HOMES PROGRAM. MULTIFAMILY RENTAL REHAB AND MULTIFAMILY NEW CONSTRUCTION AS WELL AS PUBLIC FACILITY PROGRAMS AND ANY INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMS THAT WE MIGHT WANT TO FUND. OUR DRAFT PLAN WAS AVAILABLE ON OUR CITY WEBSITE. IT'S ALL STILL THERE AND AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS FOR PUBLIC COMMENT. AS SUCH, THE CITY'S PLANNING STAFF IS INITIATING THIS AMENDMENT. IT IS PUBLICLY INITIATED, SMALL SCALE IN SIZE. THE SITE IS APPROXIMATELY 18.84 ACRES. THE REQUEST IS TO CHANGE THE FUTURE LAND USE FROM THE COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL 35 AND PUBLIC/SEMI-PUBLIC DESIGNATION TO THE RECREATIONAL/OPEN SPACE CATEGORY. THE PLANNING COMMISSION STAFF REVIEWED THE REQUEST AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION AGREED AS WELL AND FOUND IT CONSISTENT WITH A NUMBER OF POLICIES IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, SPECIFICALLY AS CONSISTENT WITH POLICIES WITH PROMOTING RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE CITY. IT WAS CONSISTENT WITH POLICIES THAT SEEK TO PRESERVE TAMPA'S HISTORICAL RESOURCES. AGAIN, THIS SITE RECEIVED HISTORICAL DESIGNATION EARLIE THIS YEAR. THEN FINALLY, THE REQUEST WAS CONSISTENT WITH PROTECTING CITY-OWNED CEMETERIES. THE RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE CATEGORY IS THE MOST APPROPRIATE LAND USE CATEGORY FOR CITY-OWNED CEMETERIES IN THE CITY AS ADOPTED BY THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. BASED ON THOSE CONSIDERATIONS, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS THAT THE PROPOSED MAP AMENDMENT BE FOUND CONSISTENT WITH THE GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES OF THE TAMPA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
