finally in Cottage Grove we've had the opportunity or at least I have had the opportunity to visit the one down in Hastings which has been fantastic uh the owner which is here and I believe it's Mike one in Cottage Grove so very excited to have you here uh joining me uh if you could see next to me here is our County Commissioner Carla Bingham and our city council member Tony combata is behind us and of course we're being surrounded well I should mention we also have Lori from our uh Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce and then around me is all the great employees from Jersey Mike's so what I wanted to do is mention a couple tidbits of info and then a little fun fact for me that I don't know that you know so first this is Mike's 11th so the owner here his 11th Jersey Mike's location in the Twin Cities which is absolutely amazing obviously investing in our communities uh and you've been in the industry for over 20 years and then and you have owned and operated at least 50 restaurants and you've owned the Jersey Mike's uh franchise since 2013. uh and I I don't know I haven't met them yet but you have two sons Cavern right [01:15] **Mike McGuire**: yes sir [01:16] **Cavern McGuire**: nice to meet you nice to meet you [01:18] **Mayor Myron Bailey**: awesome and then we have Dylan somewhere around here so glad to have part of the family here doing this too that's amazing so here's the fun fact for you so as many people in Cottage Grove know uh the the city myself and at least one of the council member and our staff spend a lot of time going to the icsc convention in Las Vegas the icsc convention when we go there is we Market ourselves to businesses that we want and and developers that we want to bring to Cottage Grove one of the fun facts I could share with you is many years I went there one of the Halls at the very back of the hall there's a huge wall with Jersey Mike's and they give away free Subs correct and so the line is a mile long to get there and every time I'd go there that was my lunch for the two days that were there as you go and you drive to Jersey Mike's it's like when are we going to get one of these in our town and we're finally here we're finally here and so I just wanted to uh once again I'm going to let you uh say a few words um letting the public know if you already don't because I've heard it out on social media quite a bit uh Jersey Mike's is directly on the East Point Douglas Road right next to Menards uh so you can see it from the highway uh at the moment coming from the south is probably a little easier to get here coming from the north but the fact of the matter is they're in a great location here and uh we're very very excited to have them and I'll actually turn it over to Mike to maybe say a few words about o'clock to 10 o'clock if you show up at 1002 we'll probably still wait on you but we're like that but I can tell you what I'm most excited about Cottage Grove is there's got to be a lot of good parents here because we've hired 39 people and and these kids have been amazing so absolutely positively hands down our best opening staff ever so shout out to all the parents out there you guys are raising good kids so I appreciate that as a business owner it all starts with our staff our team our people and the support from from the community so thank you guys for everything you've done so far point of and I heard that this is happening in Hastings [03:52] **Mike McGuire**: sure has [03:53] **Mayor Myron Bailey**: you're actually partnering with two of our local organizations for your grand opening week is that correct [03:58] **Mike McGuire**: correct [03:59] **Mayor Myron Bailey**: and I believe it's the Cottage Grove Hockey Association and the park High football team is that correct what what's going on with that what what can the public know about how you're supporting them [04:08] **Mike McGuire**: uh well on Monday we did Grassroots uh opportunity where we went out into the community we passed out free sub coupons to where we're trying to bring everybody in to try our product for those that's never had it before so we're willing to give out a free sub and then all you had to do is donate three dollars in return so you're getting an eight nine dollar sub and all you have to do is give three dollars back to the charity of your choice and it's worked out really really well perfect we probably had 50 people already come in today just to support it so we're looking forward to everyone if you got a coupon come use it up please [04:45] **Mayor Myron Bailey**: there you
