Each year, the city recognizes an individual or group that has gone above and beyond in their efforts to get involved in our community and to help others. To recognize a deserving volunteer, complete the online nomination form at the link provided by October 31st. Stop by the Halloween costume swap at the Environmental Center in Woodmberry or Forest Lake this Wednesday, October 15th, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to shop for free gently used kids costumes. Limit one costume per child. For more information, including event locations, check out the link provided. Speaking of Halloween, save the date Friday, October 31st from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. to trick-or- treat at Fire Station 2 located on 15th Street. Bring the kids in costume to enjoy free hot dogs, candy, and to explore our fire vehicles. A big thank you to Oakdale Police and Fire for hosting. Finally, the last day for the city's complimentary curbside collection of Buckthornne is Tuesday, October 21st, which means you need to complete your waiver for pickup by Friday, October 17th.
