welcome again to the Mesa city council meeting for the evening of August the 28th 2023 all of our Council are present we will begin this meeting with an invocation but I don't believe Pastor Ford's present is he so we will stand for a moment of silence followed by the Pledge of Allegiance so please stand for a moment of silence and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and I'd like to note that we are pleased to have with us today uh members of our newly formed mayor's youth committee for this school year and we're excited that they will come forward and lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance so please join me for a moment of silence thank you mayor's youth committee please join us in the pledge I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all foreign thank you very much well done I'd also like to note that today marks the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr is famous I Have a Dream speech that was given at the National Mall it's a call for an end of discrimination and for equality and it inspired change and it continues to inspire and has been acknowledged as really one of the greatest speeches in the history of our country so I hope we'll be mindful of that and today would be a great time to to read that speech again and I'm sure it will continue to inspire and motivate us for generations to come first item on our agenda is to take action on the consent agenda we invite Mr Christopher to please come forward and read that read that hmm a new audio console for the arts and culture Department item 4B approving Cooperative contract use for the purchase of two combination sewer vacuum trucks for the Water Resources Department item 4C approving three-year term contract with two years of renewal options for landscaping and decorative rock materials for various City departments as requested by the transportation department item 4D approving Cooperative contract use for the purchase of two heavy duty construction trucks with dump bodies for the transportation department item 4E approving three-year term contract with two years of renewal options for vacuum services for the transportation and Fleet Services departments item 5A approving resolution for zoning case 22-1298 for property located west of Higley Road on the north side of University Drive County's permit to allow for a private school to be located within the limited commercial zoning District item 5B approving a resolution to enter into a First Amendment to the intergovernmental agreement dated March 1st 2018 between the Arizona Board of Regents and city of Mesa for development operation and maintenance of educational facilities in downtown Mesa item 5c approving resolution extinguishing a portion of a 20-foot public utilities and Facilities easement located in 1956 South Country Club Drive to allow for future construction of a restaurant on the property item 5D approving resolution extinguishing 15 public utilities and Facilities easements located at 6935 South crisman Road for temporary drainage based reasons to accommodate commercial development of the properties item five E approving resolution extinguishing a drainage easement located at 7250 South Sussman road to allow for relocation of a driveway on Pecos Road item 5f approving resolution extinguishing a drainage easement and drainage Covenant located at 9253 East Willis Road to accommodate development of a new business park item 6A introduction of an ordinance for zoning case 23-282 for property located north of Ray Road on the east side of Power Road major site plan modification and amending the conditions for zoning case 21-69 this request will allow for a financial institution with a drive-through item 7A is for continuance to the November 6 2023 city council meeting this item is for amending section 11-31-34a of the Mesa zoning ordinance pertaining to medical marijuana dispensaries and dual license facilities again this item is for continuous the November 6 2023 city council meeting item 7B approving ordinance for zoning case 22-1110 for property generally local located east of Mesa Drive at north of University Drive a rezone of the planned area development overlay inside plant reviews to allow for multiple residence development item 7c approving ordinance was done in case 23-129 for property located north of Broadway Road on the east side of 63rd Street rezone in site plan review to allow for development of a medical office item 7D approving ordinance for zoning case 23-384 for property generally located east of Country Club Drive and south of Main Street rezone to establish the Nile Historic Landmark overlay item 7e approving ordinance for zoning case 21-404 for property generally located west of Gilbert Road and South of Broadway Road rezone the new planned area development overlay and major site plan modification to establish unique development standards and allow for a multiple residence development item 7f approving ordinance for zoning case 23-338 for property generally located west of Ellsworth Road and North of Germain Road rezone the plan area development overlay a bonus intensity Zone overlay in site plan review to allow foreign Industrial Development an item 8A approving subdivision plant map of dedication of Sonoran Gateway exchange for property located north of Germain Road and East of Sussman Road mayor and council members these are the items of the consent agenda thank you Mr Christopher
