WE HAD A SAUNA BUSINESS OPERATING OUT OF COMPLIANCE DUE TO A FEW DIFFERENT ISSUES, BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE WAS THEY WERE RUNNING WOOD-FIRED SAUNAS. [11:58] **Linea Palmisano:** MULTIPLE OF THEM. 16 HOURS PER DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. SO THE AIR QUALITY INDEX AROUND THOSE SAUNAS WAS MEASURED BY ONE OF OUR AIR MONITORS, NOT RIGHT THERE, FURTHER AWAY, TO BE 150. WHICH IS THE RED ZONE. IT'S CONSIDERED UNHEALTHY FOR EVERYONE AND PEOPLE WILL BE EXPERIENCING HEALTH EFFECTS. AS A COMPARISON, ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY, THE NEXT HIGHEST READING IN THE CITY WAS ABOUT HALF THAT LEVEL. UMM, THAT WAS AN INDUSTRIAL ZONE. INSTEAD OF BEING NEAR AFFORDABLE HOUSING LIKE THIS ONE. IT CAME UP AFTER LAST YEAR WHEN WE PASSED A MINIMUM PRICE FOR CIGARETTES THAT, YOU KNOW, MANY PARENTS IN MY WARD WERE CONCERNED WE WEREN'T ADDRESSING THE ISSUE OF TODAY. YOUTH ARE GETTING ADDICTED TO VAPES. IF WE WANT TO PREVENT MORE TOBACCO ABUSE AND ADDICTION IN OUR CITY, THEN WE NEED TO ADDRESS VAPES. [14:21] **Katie Cashman:** SECONDLY, MY WARD HAS A COUPLE OF LARGE DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOODS, LUHRING PARK BEING ONE OF THEM. THE TOBACCO DISTANCE REGULATIONS WERE EXEMPTED. LUHRING PARK HAS BEEN INUNDATED WITH TOBACCO STORES. AND WE DON'T HAVE DISTANCE REQUIREMENTS FROM TOBACCO STORES. SO WE DECIDED TO ADD THAT IN, AS WELL AS TO ADD A DISTANCE FROM SCHOOLS TO BE IN LINE WITH CANNABIS AND LIQUOR STORES. SO REALLY HAPPY WE'RE MOVING THIS FORWARD TODAY. [46:20] **Aurin Chowdhury:** THROUGH THAT BILL, THE WEALTHIEST INDIVIDUALS, THE TOP 1%, WILL BE GETTING $120 BILLION NET TAX CUTS. AND ACCORDING TO ANALYSIS FROM THE U.S. TREASURY DEPARTMENT, NEARLY 60 PERCENT OF THE TAX CUTS, OR $.5 TRILLION ARE GOING TO GO TO THE TOP 10% OF TAXPAYERS WHO EARN MORE THAN $228,000 ANNUALLY. WE NEED WEALTH DISTRIBUTION IN OUR COUNTRY AND OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS SIMPLY NOT GOING TO PROVIDE FOR THAT. [46:57] **Aurin Chowdhury:** WE KNOW THAT POVERTY IS AN ISSUE IN THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS. AND IT'S TIME, AS A COUNCIL AND CITY, START SPEAKING WITH DEEP CLARITY. AND UNDERSTAND THAT SPEAKING ABOUT POVERTY AND ADDRESSING IT AND WEALTH DISTRIBUTION WHEN WE HAVE JUST CONCENTRATED IT MORE AND MORE OVER THE LAST DECADES IS NOT POLITICAL. IT'S A MORAL QUESTION. AND IT IS VERY MATERIAL. WE HAVE A TALE OF TWO CITIES IN THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS. PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING EVERY DAY TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES, AFFORD THEIR HEALTH CARE BILLS. AND WE KNOW IT'LL GET WORSE. AND IF WE DON'T FIND WAYS TO RELIEVE TAX BURDEN ON THE INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE LOWER INCOMES AND ALREADY [47:43] **Aurin Chowdhury:** STRUGGLING, WE'RE ALSO GOING TO SEE SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUES. AND MY QUESTION IS ABOUT, LIKE, I THINK A LOT OF TIMES PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE IMPACTED BY SOMETHING. WHEN THEY'RE ACTUALLY NOT. IF IT'S FOR THE 1%. IT'S NOT GOING TO IMPACT 99% OF US. IN OUR CITY, WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE LIVING PAYCHECK-TO-PAYCHECK. WHERE I LIVE IS THE MINIMUM ANNUAL IS $33,000. THAT'S NOT AFFORDABLE, ACCEPTABLE, OR SUSTAINABLE. AND PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BE HAVING TO, YOU KNOW, PAY SO MANY SALES TAXES AND PROPERTY TAXES AND ALL THESE OTHER KINDS OF FEES IN OUR CITY.
