director Holmes to also go over our goals and objectives during this time yes ma'am would you like me to read the objectives first or just respond to them um you can you can do both read respond there were five objectives adopted by zoning committee at the beginning of this uh committee year the first being provide oversight to phase two and phase three of the city's zoning ordinance rewrite phase two Alternatives development and valuation it's occurring summer 2021 through 2023 and phase three the ordinance drafting will spend winter 2023 through summer 2024 the um many members of the zoning committee did participate in phase two coming out to several of the work sessions that will that were held throughout the city um in a hybrid fashion throughout the city we concluded those sessions in April of this year in District 11 and and um did at that time we did state that the the um contract s would then start drafting the regulations in accordance to what they've heard through all the workshops and the um other sessions held they are currently drafting those regulations and we will come back in the summer of 2024 and those those draft ordinances will be posted online and there will be several work work sessions for members of the city council to respond to as well as the general C citizenry there will be several meetings um um to do that until it is it is finalized and submitted for adoption be fully engaged in the city's zoning ordinance rewrite including but not limited to participating in public engagement sessions providing a forum for reflection debate and thought leadership and many of the council members um seated here today as well as the other members of city council did Pro provide comment and did was present at many of the workshops that were held provide oversight to the implementation of the campon road overlay District created pursuant to se to 220 1019 with the intent to properly balance increasing residential and Retail uses with the desired commercial and mixed use development that legislation was adopted we have seen several amendments to that legislation to e to further refine those regulations along Campton Road a very important Corridor here in the city of Atlanta and we continue to receive oversight from council member over street with regard to Campton Road and working diligently with mpu and mpur review and evaluate existing inclusionary zoning policy policies outcomes in similar US cities our inclusionary zoning regulations are in place the second the third one of of the inclusionary zoning regulations is being adopted in I believe it was early 2022 with the Westside Park inclusionary zoning overlay um those regulations are in place and many of the developers that are adopting or choosing to develop in those areas are waving the in Lu V and meeting the requirements of inclusionary zon review the most recent employee evaluations of the Department's offices under the purview of the committee um and I do believe that those um um evaluations may have been presented and there was no further comment okay well um thank you for uh weighing in on these goals and objectives I do have a couple comments as well um let's just look at it like winners and losers I'm only going to speak about the winners I make you my winner for the year uh director Holmes um because this is some yeah for sure um because we I do feel uh very good about where we are with the work that we've done with the uh public engagement for the zoning rewrite um when we say we want public engagement this is exactly the model that we need you have five meetings that were well attended uh your first schedule that you put out uh miss a spot asked for it you you included that and um it was just as robust as all the others um and that is what it takes in order for everyone to feel like they have uh a say in How We Do do business here in Atlanta and I appreciate you for that cuz that is not easy to do others have not been able to do that on some very important uh projects that we have going on around the city um another winner is the Cela Road overlay which uh can't believe we went so long without one I'm glad we have it now we're literally um adjusting the overlay because we're nitpicking now and that's just a wonderful place to be uh where that over is concerned with all of the development that I foresee coming to camton Road over the years to come we will we can rest easy knowing that we've already put this in place so thank you for that so that's why you're my winner where I think we could do better uh is with our short-term rental um paper I would like for us to go ahead on and button that baby up and um sit in it so that the city can uh be in a better place where short-term rentals are concerned uh but overall I think that we've done a great job with zoning and uh looking forward to you know completely um finishing up the zoning rewrite uh tree ordinance and some of the other things that are on
