good evening ladies and gentlemen it's now 5:30 and I call this regular meeting of the Burnsville city council to order we'll begin our meeting with a moment of silence followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and we invite you to join us I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all the city clerk please note for the record that mayor KS is absent from tonight's meeting tonight's meeting is being conducted in person and online members of the public May attend in person or watch this meeting online at Burnsville mn.gov meetings or Comcast channel 16 or 859 the public can also participate through Zoom by joining us at zoom. usjoin more information is available on our meeting's web page and in the council agenda packet item one on the agenda is announcements and presentations we have no presentations but have two announcements our next regular Council meetings are Tuesday December 19th at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday January 2nd at 5:30 p.m. and we have a work session on Tuesday December 12th at 5:30 p.m. less noted all meetings are here in the council chambers moving on to item number two is Citizens comment this is the opportunity for anyone that would like to address the Council on an item that is not on the printed agenda not coming before us at a future meeting does anyone wish to address the councel see no one we'll move on item number three is additions to the final agenda this is for emergency items that need immediate Council action or discussion does staff have any other additions to the final agenda nothing from staff mayor thank you does the council have any additions to the final agenda nothing we'll be moving on to item number four which is the consent agenda all items listed on the consent agenda are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion however an item may be removed from the con consent agenda for a separate discussion and vote is there anyone from the public who wishes an item to be removed from the consent agenda see none does the staff have an item to remove nothing from staff mayor members of the council would you like to remove an item um I would like to remove item I forgot the number four r four R sorry council member Workman is polling item four R which is a resolution authorizing the establishment of tinel treats and giving event May I have a motion to adopt the balance of the consent agenda move to approve council member key motions second second by council member SCH all in favor I I oppose nay and the motion carries council member Workman would you like to discuss item four R thank you um I don't really need to discuss it I just wanted to pull this item to make sure our community is aware of of it and the incredible work that our police department has done for this um event specifically officer Mark heatherington and Sergeant Brent Murray who helped uh make this event possible officer heatherington has been a fundraising machine uh with the sole mission of making sure that our community members in need have an enjoyable holiday and Christmas um with an opportunity to meet Santa receive some gifts and relax act uh with these fun festivities I know our police chief and our city manager get to hear this from me often um but I'm very grateful and proud of this amazing police department and all the work they do for our community and I'm equally proud of uh officer heatherington for seeing a need in our community and addressing it with compassion and empathy um all the funds used for this event were donated by our business community and I also wanted to thank all those organizations and individuals who contributed to this event and so with that said I would like to make a very grateful motion to approve this item motion by council member Workman have a second second second by council member key all in favor I oppose nay the and it passes there are no other other items on the regular agenda so the members of the council since there are no other items on the agenda may I have a motion to adjourn council member key everyone it wants second all in favor I I oppos nay and we are adjourned thank you and enjoy your week everyone
