Mayors Moment: February 2026
No description available.
Hello, Cottage Grove. I'm Mayor Myron Bailey and I want to share an important update about a beloved community resource, the Washington County Parkrove Library. And while the Park Grove Library is owned and operated by Washington County, not the city, I thought it was important to help amplify this important information for all of our residents. The library has been a center for learning, connection, and community for decades. But because the building was constructed in 1984 and no longer meets the community's current needs, Washington County is preparing for a major renovation project that will bring this space into the 21st century. The redesigned library would be more energyefficient and include additional meetings and study rooms, a dedicated space for teens, a vibrant children's area, and other community focused spaces. To make this vision a reality, the Park Grove Library will close for construction at 5:00 p. p.m. on Saturday, February 28th. A temporary library located at the Cottage Grove Service Center will open on Monday, March 2nd. Library hours at the service center are Monday and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. The temporary library will offer basic library services such as getting a library card, pickup for holds, a small browsing collection, and access to the public computers and printing. County library staff will offer regular story times, book clubs, tax assistance, and tech programs at the service center and out in the community. Learn more about all upcoming programs on the library's online calendar. Again, while the library is owned and operated by Washington County, I wanted to be sure this important information got to as many residents as possible. So, be sure to visit the county's website for more information. Thank you as always and thank you for tuning in to another mayor's moment.
