So a few years back, former council member Fry and Councilmember title had asked for annual update, 2 reviews of some of our facilities, particularly 3 in particular that have huge impact in our community. They huge economic drivers as well. So the 3 that we have here for you today is the ice rink, which is had a lot of changes in the past few years. Golf has also had a few changes of the past few years. And striker has had some some upgrades that we would like to talk about as well. So is when staff members are going to be coming up here and give a reveal. So the first one is from the ice rink and I have shown O'Reilly here and also on the call is his supervisor Lewis a lumbar? So it has 27 years ago, folks going to the general manager, the ice rink would have said no, not a chance, but I'm glad I Recently. As you can see, everybody can read probably some Read everything. past Christmas, we're quite successful during a public skates. Every single 3, 20250 skaters. got some customers returning not around for many years. And then. It's all right there. don't want to talk. It's true. That It could explain it much better than I can. I also want to say this is one part of my job that dislike the most. Getting up and speaking in front of people. So I apologize. You're doing Thank you. I guess when one of the next slide who's in charge of that in my answer to that yes. Wonderful. Perfect. Unfortunately with one sheet of this past year. We weren't able to. Book has made her says we wanted. But on those weekends, when we could. There's space for 8 parties. In the rooms and basically every Saturday afternoon we had we're full so. With the second sheet of ice up, we've been able to. More around looking to improve in the summertime the slower months. I did notes and some of the stuff too. So hold Just one second full so in 2022, we had 87 skaters over our. Sessions in 2023. We're up 256. We have sessions on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings. the children went out, we had to cancel some summer sessions to the ice conditions. This past. Session, we had another 160 a registered so we're getting back to to kind of pretty. Creates failure. Well, we'll see if not getting better. Which is good. too many. We've got a little Thunder program that introduce. Get to hockey. Obviously. We have a rental program that allows them to. Experience hockey for a cheaper than they would if they had the bike here. It's a $50 deposit. At the end of it all, we can fit $25 back. So I think we've got 56 kids signed up. 23 we had 27 or not. 22 27 23 of 45. This program. This year we've got 52. So we're growing. Slowly but surely taken some time. But we're getting there. Ice rentals or use a pro or use program has won 18 practices a week. Brings a lot of money. couple of tournaments. We have the National League Finals here. of course, we've got the figure skating competition the sequels were here. And I will get to that in a little bit here. Are looking to host an ACH a tournament coming up. And then, you know, to go back to Second skating impact. A lot of participants in area. U.S. figure skating. Really likes Wichita. Because of the proximity of the ranks. If you look at some of their other. Offense, they're picking bigger cities like Denver. Nashville. Detroit, places like that. they still come back big. They keep coming back to Wichita because we've got 3 sheets of ice within a mile and a half. And that's I'm not normal. He's he's just is not paying attention. It's okay. Haha. There are some photos of figure skaters were actually hosting concert this weekend as well. Skaters from Oklahoma, Kansas City, Missouri, are coming in. Just keep this weekend. So looking forward to that. Obviously everybody knows about the cackle problems. We've been running 2 sheets of ice since January. We had given fires put in and that's where those are working. Great. And as I told some of the earlier, the last time I was up here, I mean, made a prediction and look at my face would not going to do that. But we're hoping to be back in that. Back and running on the system. It's what I will say. And that's what's been going on. When we first took over past week, we we know we knew that we needed to change the light. So we've got to we've got a quote from a company. That call was about $50,000. So We actually. Did it ourselves over the 3 months. And we did it for less than $10,000. And we've already seen. The decrease our energy bills. So I think that basically already paid for themselves. The were doing the same thing in the lobby. And then obviously we've we were lucky enough to us secure sponsorship from Sonic. We're going to some new. Time clocks. In the building, which is good cause. As you can see, you can The label old. The old stuff. So. space is we've got the bar back up. And dilon revive her daughter by which was nice. Thank you for coming. Hockey players enjoy and it's. I think it's one of the best spots of the rink. We're able to. Also. at the office space that was currently are with. That was for Used by the Thunder. The the empty space. The there's a Boy pastor comes once a month use that space. What we're hoping to come up with something. A little bit more useful up there. So. Here are some of comments from users. Favorite part is presentation. My favorite part. Any questions? >> First, thank you very much for the presentation. Really appreciated that knowing that you're in such close proximity to the wind are there any collaboration set you are considering or anything to try to get at those who go to the baseball stating when it's hot to come inside where it's cool. Yeah, I'm at the other day >> we're we did talk a little bit about I know that the bars get around some specials before their games and stuff like that. And I did talk to talk to a vote. The possibility of doing a passport So really good players here because I can talk to him too. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Good question for >> Your projected financial should deficit for the next 3 or 4 years. Go profitability and audits for 5 years somewhere in there. This may be a question for Lou. Yeah, but that's above my pay grade. >> Okay. For a K. I just want to know what, what what changes in and 3 or 4 years now to turn to profitability. >> That's here blue to the building a one or for the Usage of the facility. >> just received from our or accounting scheme. send out Detroit and the Finance department, their And Rhori. We made a $30,000 profit almost $31,000 profit. For February. Already. What we were expecting earnings start taking a loss on our facility. So that's positive. That I think we might actually get to that. Just an ability. Lisa, as Iran, Matt sooner we projected. Unknowns at the time that we put that much together with everything in disarray. So the team has been working extremely hard do those that Through January just February Ferrari, $40,000 better than our for this first 2 months of the year. >> Councilman Justin on to lose comments. So our staff has been working very closely with them in 2 major things that really can change. And obviously the second sheet ice has a huge impact in the programming in the opportunity to or more revenue. And we've also been working with Sean and his team regards to more marketing. So we're looking at getting more information at using our social media using our opportunities in regards to marketing to help them with their programming and getting the word So we were very, very conservative. In every time. I'm just the shot had mentioned earlier. Every time we think we are in the clear moving forward to getting things ready. Mechanically something else has happened. So I don't want to jinx that right now. But we're seeing that as soon as everything kind moves forward in regards to all the equipment being replaced or repaired we we I think we purchased a new Zamboni a year and a half ago. All these little things that we've done. I think we're going to see some really good improvements and a lot more programming. A lot more activity over at the ice rink there are still opportunities for some more rental revenue. And one of the things we've been talking about is sponsors sponsorships at the location. So a larger initiative across the city. But this particular facility is prying for some really good sponsorship naming rights in that would also help with some of the revenues. Good. Thank Thank you, gentlemen. >> No comments. But if you are no questions but a few first off, I think after years of bad press, the good press of the past couple months has probably helped propel you for some very media outlets covering the good things happening at the ICE Center. In addition to I can vouch for one of the public skate nights. I went for a birthday and there's probably 300 people at the event on a Friday night and it was packed the entire night and I think people are probably running out of skates because of how many people were there. So I think it's an incredible experience. My friends and I didn't want to leave. And so I was very portion of that. Mayor, what I did have the chance the bar that I've been to the ice and her 5 times since January. And I really appreciated that. I've also appreciated your ability to make your own investments in the ice specifically the lights, the scoreboard and the investments that you are willing to make up the property I think speaks of your leadership for it and are excited about the idea sponsorships and your staff has been incredible too. And so just thank you for the work that you're doing. I seen substantial since been actively going to the ice rink and I'm a person of that. In I guess 2 quick questions. Can you talk briefly about the advisory board that you're looking at for mean, I know that we've had e-mail correspondence about that and that will help for Professional outside experience looking as well. And then addition to that, where can I apply to be a full-time Zamboni driver? And am I qualified? >> It doesn't take much if I can do it. Anybody can do it. As a poster. Right answer to your question about the advisory board. Basically it's grown out of and idea. I just want to recognize I sports in Wichita because there's a great history there. I just want to put real up. So talked to some people that. I thought might be able to help me with that. And it's kind of turned into a whole different animal. We're trying to find. Ways to fill. The spot upstairs that used to be Justice Jim, something that. Not only the rain could be part of it. I think the city of Wichita, too. So. We're very early on. hoping that we can. Come up with something good. Thank you. Thank you for your Appreciate it very much. Thank you, Sean. Thank you, Lou. Just in closing on this particular topic, I totally agree that we've turn the corner here with the ice rink, things that really changed. >> The investment that they were putting in not only with lights, but the elbow The customer service has really made a change. They actually purchased. new rental skates, which was really big hit. So it's the little things that make a difference. And they're really doing a great job with that. So I it's been a great partnership with them. And so I think we can see big things in the future. One last thing to add about Shaun talk a little bit about some of outside tournaments coming here to Wichita. And when we hosted the same crew ice skating through Figure Skating huge impact. It was a huge commitment on our part to bring in a temporary chiller open up the second sheet of ice. That's something that they really appreciated. And I know that we are on their radar to bring in more outside tournaments and competitions here to Wichita, which a huge economic impact. So we're really excited about So next we have our in-house staff and the golf course said Justin Kaufmann, he's going to go over several of the items and guards the Gulf. >> everyone. my name is Jesse Kaufman's. He said of the manager of the Golf Thank you all for the opportunity to give the update this morning before begin, I just want to point of the 2024 golf. God, I'm on the table for everyone to look at. We just put this out last week. It's got all of most of our programming and events and information about the entire division in the Gulf Program just as a whole. So want to make sure you had a chance to look at that. And inside a put a copy of the 2023 kind of financial, a snapshot of the financial. So if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer that. I've been here just under 2 years now. And there's been a lot of change more than I could ever go over. And this this presentation today. So I'm kind of focusing on what the things that we accomplished. 2023, the just the everything that happened last year and moving in the Fort Future. What we're planning on so one thing that happened last year, we formed the golf Board of I want to start with this just to make sure everyone is aware of how this board constructed. We have 7 members. We have one representative from each course and these 4 individuals are very active in the league's just everything that happens at their home course. There they do a great job of talking to the golfers at course and bring that information back so we can help better decisions, not just on what we see, but what are golfers and what our customers want. So we have those 4 individuals. We have an agronomy who has a last background of agronomy golf course. Superintendent. I'm a financial U.S. financial specialist and then the retail specialist position is vacant. Right now we had an individual that just due to time commitments. really couldn't commit any longer. So I have a nominee that all passing bar to you guys for approval to fill that seat. So but everything that we is again, based off we try to make the decisions based on the golfers and what the feedback that we get from them. Instead of just what we feel we need to do so want to make sure point that out that that that board been a huge help this past year planning planning and everything that we've done. So starting with the financials in 2022, revenue that came through system was 5.8 million last year was just under 6 and a half million. So we had an increase of 666,000 in just rate revenue. Course revenue is great, but it doesn't matter if yours. If your expenses are up the bottom of to the extent that excessive revenues over expenditures, basically our profit was $720,000 last year. And I want to get into the second in a second. We did a lot of projects. very happy with that considering all the things that we accomplished above and beyond the normal operations. Participation was incredible. Last year 2022, we did just under 175,000 rounds and everyone thought that the there's no, you can't put anybody else out there. we found a way to put 13,000 more people. So we had 100 almost 188,000 rounds through the 4 golf courses last year, which I want to. Definitely say what a great job staff has If you stand in our approach up on a nice day for 10 minutes, you'll be exhausted from just listening to them. Things that are coming at them so fast. So staff did a tremendous job of keeping up with everything. We had 50 over 51,000 unique visitor. So those are any type of transaction is that we come through our system from unique user. So whether that's golf driving range, food and beverage. I'm buying merchandise. And that number is actually a little bit low because someone comes and just buy something, we don't actually create an account. So these are accounts that had activity in our systems over 51,000. I would say that number is quite a bit higher, but that's the ones that I could prove. So it's big impact. 51,000 That's a lot of people that use our facilities. And then when they come out, what do they feel about? Obviously was so we do. A survey was surveys out everyone that plays golf and up in a couple examples up The first was based on experience today, would you return to this course? And as you can see, it was something it was 96% said yes, to percent said no. And then 2% made a comment very happy with that number. I'm not 96%. Return rate is great. The second one on the top right was where he greeted in a friendly professional manner. And you can see, I think 90 I think was right at said yes, which customer service was a huge to increase last year. So that's A reflection that even though we're as busy as we were, we were still able to. I'm kind increase that customer service level. And then the last was a do you consider the course to be in good condition this a little bit skewed because it sits right 80% said yes, there was only I think 3% that said no. And then the other. When you read those comments, almost everyone was, of course, was great, really enjoyed around. So. In reality, the pause or March is about 95% or so. I'm happy with that course. Conditions last year we had a lot of winter deal coming out. A out of the winner, the which is basically where the grass dozen because of the conditions that we had last winter with the subfreezing dry with no rain. So this so happy we're coming into the spring in a much better condition I think that that number is even an increase this year. Some of the project we're able to accomplish last year. Probably the number one from a customer standpoint where the new carts that we were able to get and we went over and wings. But we had cars that were dying on the course. They're in terrible conditions. So adding the new cards was a great for our customers and to our staff. the fund that we created to support financially support. The release of the new cards working perfectly. So we're very happy with how that stirred up total clubhouse renovations. If you haven't been to the courses of got some pictures coming up in a second. But we've completely renovated Centex and Mac feedback has been fantastic on that. About a lot of new equipment over $300,000 in new equipment. And we have really worked hard kind of build out a 5 year plan on equipment based on priority and what equipment we need to start with. We, you know, we all we all know Goff just as a whole didn't had rough decade between basically 2010 2020. And there wasn't a lot of money to put back into the system. So which unfortunately playing catch-up a little bit with a lot of the projects and things that equipment that we need replacing and all that. But last year, we definitely made a big jump and getting closer to where need to be with equipment. New driving range that sir, sounds like a simple thing, but it's very important. And the amount of of people we have user driving ranges and if the are bad, it's it's not And not productive. So that was a big thing for customer service. Unfortunately, our irrigation we all know not the best. It's very, very old. We did spend a lot of money on that irrigation just trying to keep it. A I mean, just just where we can survive. So between 25300,000, just an irrigation repair, some major repairs replace several Well lining some of the platforms that the motion folks are sitting on. So we and has just to keep it, keep it going. We initiated a cart path repair project that's set to start in about 2 weeks that we just close that did it came in under budget, which is great. I think you guys will see the final approval come across this week. Probably our next week we had golf simulator which been been a huge hit. We've already had about $10,000 with revenue come off, come from the golf simulator in 2 and a half And we're getting ready to start leagues on that. That I think are going to be a huge it. So that's been great and their volunteer program, not just with starters and marshals, but we've got groups that are coming out and helping with projects on the course Mack. We've got a group that is cleaned up all the edges of the ponds year before last. The ponds were indeed, is no water at And they just kind of we know we've just brush and different things around the edges. It looks phenomenal. Now we've got a group at Auburn us help with a project on Tuesday and we're going a lot more of that interaction, which is fantastic. So the clubhouse is if you haven't been this is texting solver. If you the golf course clubhouse is looped. That's why it's a kind of like a. Old elementary cafeteria. we floors new but TV's throughout new counters, we just painted this counter. It was wasn't. It was in good shape. We just painted made a match. So feedback again has been fantastic at Mac. The the start of the best pitchers were waiting on Collins, merchandise displays to come in. So we're kind of just using what we have. They should be 2 or 3 weeks. It's really going make this look a lot better. But if you remember the old pro shop when he walked in, it was in that room to the left. And once the customer paid for their employees couldn't see out of that room. So they exist. Here's your key because look out there and we have no control can see what was going on. So we move the pro shop out to the main area so they can see number one, number 10, basically everything that they need to see to make sure things are going smoothly. The golf simulator again, this has been huge. not only with customers using it, but we also can do lessons. We're going to the leagues with the club, things that just as a whole element to the services that we can project. Talking about. Revenues were great in 2023. The really the the only area that went up was labor. And from the year before in 2022, we had several vacant positions. My position, food and beverage manager the golf course superintendents the county clerk. There's a lot of vacant positions for most of the year. So adding those positions, I'm trying to get the seasonal staff up a little bit in their pay, which we still a long way to go and then a push to increase customer service, making sure we have the staff that we need to adequately require provide the customer service. That one up all the other expenses went down about which is something we're very proud of, especially considering all the things that we were able to accomplish. So. Pretty pretty happy in that. Now. Everything sounds great are making money. We still have a lot of things that we need to accomplish. We've worked with the golf Board of Governors to create a 5 year plan projects in its pages and pages of things that need to be done. We work to prioritize those. And they were trying to be very careful that we don't. Get too ambitious. We want to make sure our fund stays healthy. Hang case. We have a series of bad weather, the economy. Whatever happens if if business slows down, we want to make sure we're not. Getting ahead of ourselves. So we're trying to really be strategic in how we attack these projects, but some of the ones that we read. Are looking at. There's a lot of tree work that needs to be work with some of these things are. Becoming a safety issue. So I'm working right now very close to the forestry to kind see what we need, what they might be able accomplish, of course there. So got so much work. It's it's hard for them to get out some of the contract, some of that work out. We definitely want to make sure everything's safe. Are our guest. The addition of a retention pond and back in that they Mac, they basically did some work So the retention pond would hold more water and the water bill from city water that we use last year was about $80,000 less than the 2022. So I had a huge impact. Obviously, we we we don't want to use city water if we if we can avoid it so we can build the retention pond. We've got to them. We've had someone come out, lay out the plans, but it is a big expense of front. Bunker. Innovations. Right now. I'm makin already, especially bunkers. Are the one of the major issues they should have been redone a long time ago. We just been trying to. Do what we can to keep them okay. But there they wash out. They don't train. They need a lot of work. So we're working actually have someone coming Tuesday. I believe we're going to. Have him. Take a look. He's an expert in that area and kind of drop a plan and and see what we figure to do there. Equipment needs. Obviously we we've had a very fleet of maintenance equipment and we're slowly going through that trip place and we've we've made of big jump getting that better. But we're still we still have a lot of equipment that we need to replace. Of course, labor cost is continuously going to go up and then the cart path repair, which that is set to start in a couple of one thing that I definitely want to mention today, something out really want to do. And this something we've talked about in the Gulf Board of governors. A lot is adding a roaming Golf courses will typically say one of the most important positions at golf courses and panic. We have 4 golf courses with no Every time something breaks down. We have to sit and have them come pick up that piece of equipment pay for that pay for them to bring it back. They have it for 2, 3 weeks you know, we can't tell the grass they stop growing for a minute until we get this back. So we get we get behind cause a lot of problems. So with this position, I think the savings would far outweigh the cost of the position we would save again on the contract and the Holocaust. Better performing equipment, regular maintenance will be done on the equipment. So is performing the way it of course, would be less down time along with the mechanic. I want to work directly with this position to create an asset management program or we can track the equipment, make sure the regular preventive maintenance is being done. Track all costs with that. With that for repair. So we can determine when it's time to buy new equipment is it makes it how much are we spending and how much does it make sense to buy new equipment or, you know, keep this going for another year? So I think this position would be a huge addition to program. And then, of course, the one thing that still over our head that we're we're trying to figure out is irrigation replacement. That's a huge We've I know we talked about it a while now that were our youngest irrigation system, I think is 28 years old. Then we have constant battles with those things we constantly just this past week we were had number 10 at Auburn. We had to close that hole into your buddy, elf up in the fairway because a mainline bust and we have to dig it all out and spend the entire week doing that instead of the other stuff that we should do. And so we're spending thousands in repairs right course, a big chunk of our labor hours, which is we don't have enough of any way is being spent doing this. It's very inefficient we have to. Basically to get this water to where we need it. We have to turn water on manually to but water. We don't need it and flood this area so of course, conditions are And then eventually especially its him. Right now were on the brink of a total failure. And then we're We're in big trouble when that happens because we don't have water. Obviously, we don't Of that's our biggest challenge without a doubt. I don't know. That's a that's a big one where our quote for Sam was 1.5 million to replace that. So we're working to try to figure out to get that done. So I think see into my presentation. I'll be glad to answer any questions. And yeah, I mean, he's good, good, good. But there's definitely challenges that still have. >> Me House. So >> it just yet. You want to thank you and for all the work you put into this. And I think just done a great The course is a look at. A lot better if they improve as much for to from last year to this year as it did from 2 years last year. They'll be amazing. So. is quite a benefit for the city and citizens. Thank you. Appreciate Not everybody can afford belong to a country club. So. It's All right. Thank you all very much. Thanks, Jesse. And want to echo appreciation for Jesse his team. His staff has done a fantastic job >> they've been working really, really hard. COVID a little bit of a silver lining, pushed a lot of people outside push. A lot of people talk golf courses. So it was really exciting. The next presentation is in regards to striker. And I have to really and Larry in low here to talk about all the great things happening, restricted. >> Well, a lot stuff going strike or you make it over the North Sea side of town on any weekend, especially Greenwich area. You definitely see a lot of uniforms. lot of parents, a lot of just activity. Don't try go into a restaurant because they're packed, which is great. seeing a lot of fun activity over that way. One thing you'll notice on these slides here are will show some pictures later on. She'll striker sports. And then here as well. I think we'll show a few pictures. Those want just this last week. So the signs up out there. Shining she'll striker sports. And so it's a it's a great it's a great day to be out that. Partnership, right? There Councilmember Tunnel Larry and the team out there really came together in a collaborative effort to to bring Scheels in, which has been probably a 3, 3, plus year endeavor. And you know who those to them. I think it almost every community they gave they going to they really invest in the people that really invest in the community. And so which saw was definitely the benefactor of this. I won't get into a few slides here that show what I would use those funds. It was 125,000 a year. 5 years 6.25. Total the city front of that money. And there's going to be refunded through the next, you know, 5 years that comes in 100% of the funds were used towards these projects. That will show you. As you can tell our, you our bread and butter is our be able to communicate with our customers. So our numbers are going up on all social media platforms, e-mail subscribers all of that. This is a and I guess one last up or not here, I guess You know, if it shows up there now. But over with over 500 Google reviews, 4.5 star rating. And with, you know, 10,000 people out there weekend, there's a lot of horses in the barn. And so we take pride in that definitely. This one is probably one of the slides most proud for the team striker is that we add additional 14 states to the map of people that are coming to Wichita from around the country. And so we're talking about collaborative effort with the ice rink. Things like that to where these people are coming to town. We want them to experience expiration place to them experience downtown old town. The ice rink, things like that. So we love that. The fact that the word is getting out, the word is getting out that we still as a destination 4, a myriad of sports, not just soccer, but a myriad of sports. And get into some of those that have come this past year. we've got a high bar set. We want the full. We want the full map that satisfy what some Hawaiians here. And then I can do it. We can do in a bit. trip back to. in talking some of the upgrades. These were some of the new ones not related to the scheels. this is these are the the locker rooms and so worth with these were. a reallocation of some star bond funds. In addition to monies as operators, we contributed $250,000 approximately or pledged $200,000 to and a short coming there. But these brought online this last year, massive Success East locker room is we have one on north and one on the south side of this championship field. Each one of those can be divided into 2 locker rooms. So those 4 teams or one large locker room in the case of American football. And so we can we can host both of those. And yes, we took care of the referees in this upgrade on the far right here. They have their own locker room and shower, which they are very, very, very pleased about. So those were those were massive success. I'm a part of the shields, renovations. This a possible as they see the old press box on the left. If you can imagine you've been the most any high school football game. That would not suffice. And so what we have over here is 3 separate rooms. Each room can house. 4 to 5, maybe even people with the crow's nest on top. This is one any time, Larry, in the team this which tall, anytime we get a sheet of prerequisites that a complex has to have in order to to even contemplate coming to Wichita. A press box is is a lot of times on that list. And the one we have just did not suffice. And so this was this is a huge, very needed upgrade. And so a wise use of the funds there. So we're excited that completed with and last week's you're so right. Final punch list is going through right now. Backstop Nets talk about just. Exciting stuff, right? Backstop nets the little things This that you've been out there many times you can attest to that with that. And in the Presidents Cup when they came out here, one of the main things they talked about was the you said the Nets that made the usability of the whole complex so much better that you didn't have crossed. Ball's going everywhere. Interrupting play possible injury. And yes, we do have a big retention pond. That all seemed to just be a magnet to that. Kids are climbing fences, trying to get the. And so. Safety playability everything I know it's not a item, but it it added so much to the complex and that was also used. Those were some of the strikers some of the show's funds are used towards that. This is where all kick it over to to He and his team have honestly done a masterful job of of getting the word Not only the professionalism when when the likes of the president's cop who have. Tournaments all over the country when they come to Wichita and they're blown away by the hospitality. They're blown away by the accessibility by people that are on staff there ready to help just in time with that. The information whether that be needs they have when they travel, you just never know what you might need. And that is the reason why people are coming back. There's a lot of because he and his staff and I think these other managers can attribute attest to that as well with their staffs. So I like Larry, to come up and talk about, you know, kind of where we've been where we're at and also a little bit we're going. So what? Thank you very much. As you can see up you know what? I'm not going to read it to get, it's nice to see that we had another visitations over 2023. >> A lot of that has to do with the national events that we have coming to town any. I'm international college soccer championships, Junior College men's and women's Division, one national championships. The Presidents Cup Youth National Championships. And then on top of that, we have 430 youth teams from the region playing in are usually 9 months out of the 12. got in the spring with that in the fall throughout the winter. So the place is hopping all the time or youth league is to 30 of 34 teams. And then we also have tournaments that we bring in 6 a year that for those are operated by ourself. And 2 of those are operated by a local entity that put that on. But they are drawing all the states within the region and that will show up here. In just a second on the next slide. So here you go. So here's some of the tournaments that we run throughout the that you can see the team count for each and then, of course, the quarter lady states that go down with those tournaments. So we're always bringing that outside dollar. bringing that to the corridor to the city of Wichita. I'm having a major economic impact on those. This is kind of a rundown of our championship series that I mentioned about the Presidents Cup, the junior college in the day. coming to town. There are affected they had on our community, the length of their stay. Certainly the spin that they had while they were visiting our in our facility. The good news is we get all 3 of those back again this year. You know not it's not you know, one and done kind of thing for us. We're always trying to keep you coming back for more. And a lot has to do with a customer service. The city itself is just fantastic. The location of the country's a big deal for a lot of these bids. So that's a major selling point for us on top of a top facility in top. Not city. We go there, but want to make sure that we mentioned visit, which talk about it because they are a fantastic ally, a wonderful friend in all of this. And they do a ton of heavy, heavy lifting when it comes to bringing these events here to Wichita and I love working with Josh and Susie and their Fantastic individuals. I just want to sing their praises because it certainly do. OK. So this is a breakdown of collegiate national championships that we had keep in mind. The junior college was both men's and Where I was just them in sight. It was the first time that we've hosted the in AI. so we're slowly trying to climb that ladder to get to the NC. Double A's as well so that we can account for all collegiate coming to our city, enjoying our facility. As you can kind of see the breakdown there 35 states. 40 teams. And then the economic impact over 1.2 million dollars for those those 2 events. This is the President's cup. Now, this is over 2000 people visiting our city. And this is a weeklong event. So they're staying, you know what ails for an extended stay. They're spending money in our restaurants. buying things that are shops. You know, all of those great things. And so this is a big deal for the city which shows the first time they've ever hosted We will have it again this year. And I know that the U.S. Soccer Federation is extremely happy about that. And a little side note on that is we are currently in the process of building them for 8, 5, here agreement to come So work. Super super excited about that presentation with them and waiting on their decision and do what we can to make this their home. Our idea is and I'm not a baseball that tempers a baseball guy. But to make Wichita. What Omaha ways to baseball for soccer. So we want this to be their headquarters for that. We want them to put up stuff here. Keep it here and return here and bring certainly all the teams from across the country here. This is just a quicklist of all the things we did in 2023. And as you can see, it is a multiple a sport facility. We pay twice for the cross. We've put lines for We were fortunate enough to have Isaiah Pacheco camp. We host Cape in High school footprint, a nice football. We do ultimate Frisbee and turn to sports and things of that nature. We do wrestling. They bring them at all those things, anything that we can do to diversify the asset. That is the facility and bring more money to the city is what we're engaged So it's a fun, big game of Tetris to play and it's certainly getting more and more difficult to find that space because we're so full. All right. So this is my last slide. And I want to just to reiterate that this is a true multi-sport facility. And as you can see, the actual pictures of the different things that we have going on in the top I failed to meet in flag football. But we also have in those kinds of things, softball baseball. And idea, large indoor building is extremely fun to watch your up close and personal with that. Those kids are amazing. You know. When we talk about the multi sport destination somebody in this somebody that I consider a true leader and asset to the city of Wichita. Councilmember Total. What that she sees a sports formula see as somebody who operates the strikers facility like they own it. And that struck a chord with Well, obviously, we don't know it's a great city asset. It struck a chord with me because it speaks our passion. It speaks to the energy that we bring to running the facility. And I think we all take great pride in that and giving anybody that comes to city, Wichita or anybody that lives in the city of Wichita. A fantastic safe experience at the facility. And that's our main goal. Always. So with that. The site features okay. So this is on the front of our present or a ticket booth as you walk into the stadium. And then just to the left is just a picture. But the directional for the field, they've also at the Shield, the scheels striker. She'll say that 3 times To it will be on all directional signage. They just got up the major market site just off 29th in Greenwich yesterday. That is off the elevator shaft that leads up to the related press box. And there is. The great, big new sign that we have that announces they really just across the street from top off. We're super excited about that. All of our social media, all of our our website and all of that is updated with a new logo or emails or even updated with that. I've been talking with Lucas who was the manager of shiels and he wasn't make this a big deal. So don't be surprised if you see more about the new signage out there and the relationship between striker and Shiels as we move forward. >> I don't have the questions but just awesome presentation. Thank you. Thank you for all you do. And you're exactly right. When there's a tournament you can't eat, you can barely you can barely shop. You in all and not just the Greenwich Corridor, but all the way over to 13th and Bradley Fair. So the impact that this has not only in allowing adults and kids to be participatory, an athletic events. You know, team building all the things, but then also the economic development opportunities that it hasn't. And I have reached out to Lucas to it shields to see what they want to do to make a big deal of this. I think we definitely should do some media, social media and just really thank them in praise them for their and amazing partnership with the city of Wichita. This is a great example of a public-private partnership. I do joke with Lewis unit with the with the risking loss of revenue because a lot of soccer were getting lost in the Right? But a thank you for all you do. And thank you for being here today. >> Thank so much. just want make a >> greatly appreciate the partnership and the work that's been done to promote. >> use of this is a multi sport facility, which is what we promoted to the Department Commerce and the state. When we received the Star Bar on funding for this project. Everything that you've done, what you've done, that those sports as well as what we've seen with the the was spurred in this area has created what I think is an extremely successful star been district. And I know that there's been some. analysis that question that and yet you saw the map in terms of the candies and the reach that you had with your activities. And I'll be updating the council later this year. But right now it looks as if the debt for the star been district will be retired. Approximately 8 years early. And it it once that is retired. We'll get over $500,000 sales tax revenue coming into the general fund. So that will give you an idea about the impact of the development in the K 96 in Greenwich Area again, with the continued promotion also visit, which their work to get more national tournaments here. I think it's just yeah, this to duck. I think to be tremendous success be happy as we continue to share more information. >> And Bob, didn't we? The see ad ended in 8 years instead of 22. >> I sorry. I can't remember. But yes, significantly win win. >> I'm definitely say that the meeting with state and a governor, he would echo those sentiments and they use. >> This is an example about why this private partnership And make sense. Absolutely. Thanks for that. >> I would test for complex with this. >> Well, long time I just go out for soccer. That's really all I ever seaside. She's seen. The distance that you guys are going use the facility for more than so appreciate all of And think. >> Thank you, Larry. Thank you, Timber. Appreciate it. 3 items just to wrap up really quick. They spoke a lot about regards to the improvements that the funds that we got from from Scheels which really appreciate. But to put all that into practice is our public works. The other ones that led those projects, the expansion of the locker rooms. So I see some of our public friends back there. Much appreciate because you guys are the ones that make all this happened after we get the dollars. So thank you very much for that. Lastly, visit Wichita not only to have an impact here but have an impact on all the other areas that we have recreational activities going on. A lot of people think about parks and recreation is just being a one-way ticket for dollars. But there truly is a lot of economic impact, whether it talking about tennis, whether we're talking about soccer, whether we're talking about use sports as well. So parks and recreation and we might put in a little bit of money in there for the economic Just want to put a shout out to visit Wichita for other work, whether it's over at the ice rink, other activities that to bring in wrestling I think was one of the big term is that they brought in as well. So with that, I completed. Thank you. Thanks, everybody.
