the consent   agenda uh vice mayor hoo can you tell us what that  is yes for those watching this was a relocation   contract I believe through our um our program  where we are selling the houses the homes families   that are part of this um who live in the homes  currently we are paying to essentially rehome them   somewhere else so I I was just curious why I guess  they they the company that we had been contracting   with decided they didn't want to do this any  further and terminated the contract so I was   just curious why and we only had one applicant um  put in to continue this so um was land acquisition   Inc were they part of the original bid as  well and they were the ones that we didn't   go with the first time around well good morning  staff thank you for being here yeah no problem   Logan Bradshaw with the Housing and Community  Services Department um the former vendor elected   to terminate her contract under the original  terms of the agreement um as you can see from   the agenda report this process started all the  way back in 2017 uh we thought we were initially   going to convert the entire witch to Housing  Authority portfolio under the rad conversion   unfortunately that did not um actually work out  for the single family portfolio so we had to   divert and do a different plan I think there were  a lot of reasons why the previous vendor decided   to cancel her contract I know there were a lot of  things going on in her personal life at the time   as well um but I think primarily due to the fact  that her contract had been extended multiple times   over and over and over again and it just became  very challenging there towards the end so that's   really the reason why she decided to terminate her  contract um to answer your second question no land   acquisition Inc did not bid the initial time and  they were the only applicant this time okay thank you further discussion if there's no further discussion  I'll make a motion to accept staff's   recommended action to approve the relocation  coordinator contract with land acquisition   Inc and authoriz signatures is there a second  second motion has been seconded by vice morning Paul Gman Public  Works and utilities I have a few petitions   for your consideration this morning the  signatures on the petitions represent   100% of the Improvement districts  the petitions are valid per Kansas   statute the first petition is Northwest YMCA  Edition located in District 5 petition the   project will provide a westbound right  turn lanane for an existing commercial development second petition is the heights  at Ma Edition also located in District 5   the projects will provide water and sanitary  sewer improvements required for new residential   development and the last petition is Cottonwood  Creeks Estates located in District 4 the project   will provide water improvements storm water  drain improvements sanitary sewer improvements   and Paving improvements required for new  residential development it is recommend   city council approve the new petitions  and budgets adopt the new resolutions and   authorized necessary signatures and I will
