The Oakdale Summerfest community organization known as Oscow and I are co-hosting a get involved with Oakdale Summerfest open house tonight, Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sergeant Pepper Grill. This is a chance for the community to step up and help decide Summerfest future. Oscar leadership will be on hand to answer questions about how things currently operate as well as talk through ideas you may have for Summerfest going forward. We hope you can join us. The city council approved the 2026 preliminary budget and capital improvement plan back in September. The truth and taxation meeting regarding the final levy will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9th, at 7 p.m. at city hall. The public is invited to attend in person or watch online as the finance team presents the 2026 city budget. The city uses OpenGV, a budgeting tool that has improved our budgeting process and enhanced transparency. For more information and to check out OpenGV, see the link provided. Finally, stop by the Oakdale Indoor Market at the Discovery Center this Saturday, December 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop from dozens of local vendors offering a unique variety of items.
