motion second any other discussion please vote Gina Macy and second by either one motion carries mayor that concludes all of the action items now word to the public comments thank you our first speaker is Jake Wilson followed by rodri Bryant who is here on behalf of a group Mr Wilson good evening mayor and city council my name is Jake Wilson this evening I speak to you in my personal capacity only to express my respectful but strong opposition to the recent decision by Fort Worth Park and wreck to cancel an event by Latinos United for conservative action for Abel Garcia to share his story as a d transitioner thank you mayor Parker for making clear that you also disagree with Park and Rec's decision I'm not affiliated with Latinos United for conservative action I'm just speaking as a concerned Fort Worth resident I've lived in Fort Worth for The Last 5 Years and worked in Fort Worth for the last 10 years here in Fort Worth we are a city of a broad diversity of perspectives this is not like some parts of rural Texas but it's also not like New York City either here in Fort worth and in tant County as a whole this is where the different perspectives really do mix and mingle we value Free Speech we learn to respect each other and we learn to work together in this larger discussion about transgenderism there are some basic worldview differences in play under a post-modernist view that truth is relative to the individual the conclusion one may reach is that a person's external body and biology must yield to the person's internal perception of what gender they they are however under a bible-based Christian world view that absolute truth is external to the individual it follows that the best outcome for that person is for their internal perception to make peace with the external truth of how God designed us as humans Abel Garcia wants to share his personal story of how making peace without external truth was the right path in this internal versus external discussion either perspective should be able to rent a public venue and make their case all Fort Worth residents with our many viewpoints pay taxes towards City buildings if we would respect someone's free speech to express an opinion at this microphone then how much more should they be able to say it in a public space that they have paid not only taxes but on top of that paid a rental fee to use many people may be aware of the 303 creative case from last year in which the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the religious liberty of a web designer what some may not know is that even naen straon the former president of the ACLU from 1991 to 2008 co-authored a joint oped and Bloomberg law with Alliance defending Freedom CEO Kristen Wagner in favor of the 303 creative decision I brought copies of their article for each council member it's titled web designers Free Speech Supreme Court Victory is a win for all if we support the right of free speech that miss strawson and miss Wagner defend that I'm confident you can have a strong bipartisan vote to change the park and wreck policy thank you very much our next speaker is rodri Bryant I believe Mr Bryant has are speaking on behalf of a group is that correct sir yes sir excellent if you'll just have your group stand for me and then you'll have six minutes perfect and the next speaker is actually Angela laak who's also here on behalf of a group there's well over 20 people so both will have six minutes thank you good evening everybody my name is rodri Bryant um I'm representing the Teamsters Union and real quickly you don't have to all St in the whole time unless you want to in solidarity I should have said that okay I caught that one I'm representing the Teamsters Local Union here in Fort Worth right off of I35 um so for every day for more than two months myself and 400 other fellow Teamster members from the Fort Worth m co Brewery have been outside on the picket line um for our strike we were forced to strike by our employer who who is most in Coors a company that made $12 billion last year from our hard work and our hard labor in return moson Kors came to the table and only offered us an insulting 99 cent pay raise after more than two months on the line the company's greedy and shameful position has not changed at all we as Teamsters refuse to accept breadcrumbs from a corporation that we our labor made Rich during calls with Wall Street sh shareholders most en cor Executives consistently brag about how profitable the company is when it comes to respectable uh contract for our workers they cry poor this is a story that is too that is sadly all too common in America Global corporations boast about innovating and consolidating to improve operations but all they're doing is maneuvering to keep profits for themselves working people are told to accept whatever they're given when corpor as big as mostes talk about reducing labor costs and management overhead all they're really saying is how can we get away with having fewer workers and paying them less the most ENC CEO salary is nearly $10 million for every $1 that one Teamster makes he gets paid the CEO takes home $281 for every $1 that these members behind me make we are not asking to become wealthy we just want to catch up with inflation and be able to provide for our families just like all of you would we will continue to walk the picket line until we get good wages good health care and the respect that we deserve we are the backbone of this company we know the only things that moson Kors cares about is keeping its investors happy every time another multi-billion dollar stock Bay buyback is announced it confirms what we already know most inors doesn't care about us we've had to fight fight and fight during the cont contract negotiations just to keep what we have the level of disrespect for our workers is unbelievable on two separate occasions our negotiating committee waited for hours for the company's negotiators to come back to the bargaining table to talk only to find out they had left for the day and didn't even bother telling us and I'm going to repeat that so it sets in so on two separate occasions our negotiating committee waited for hours uh for the companies negotiators to come back to the bargaining table they had left for the day and didn't even tell us it's how disrespectful they are we are the only major moson Coors Brewery in the US that has Teamsters Union representation this company's unwillingness to reach a fair agreement with workers means its sites are set on Breaking the union that's that's their goal to break the union workers at other mostl course prints they're watching us closely we know we have a lot of support and we know we will not be broken we're overwhelmed with the public support for a nationwide boycott of all most en Coors products we put our all into making these products which include Miller High Life Kors light Milwaukee best Fosters Topo Chico Yingling and dozens of other brands we're not trying to harm the products nor the employee that we hope to go back to work for we're just calling for the boycott to put pressure on M and cores to do the right thing and agree to a fair contract for the workers that make this company a success we all want to just go back to work we're spreading the word about the boycott at different grocery stores Distributors liquor stores and wherever most Kors products are sold the public is Absolut absolutely astounded when they hear that Mosen Kors could have invested his workers in his workers to come to terms on a fair agreement but instead they chose to ship in White Collar managers and hire temps to that that that are con that are doing our work right now the company has had little success with this tactic we are trained and we are skilled what we do the jobs that we do they're not easy if you want it done and you want it done right hire Teamster labor let let the teamsters do it being on strike isn't fun but we're United our Spirits is strong and we're optimistic that when we go back to work we will go back in better than we were when we came out every worker needs to know the power that they have corporations can pay us a living wage and won't even it won't even put a dent in their pocket I hope seeing us strike at mlim KS inspires other workers to come together unionize and fight for their worth thank youall so [Applause] much is Angela Le Miss Le you have six minutes thank you good evening my name is Angela Le I am a resident of Fort Worth I actually live across the freeway from the brewery that I work at I am one of more than 400 Teamster employees that are on strike with Molen cores right now A company that was once prided for being the company to work for with better benefits great pay better opportunities for a solid future for your your and for your family prior to coming to work for molon Cores I worked for Walmart I was a salary member of management I held that position for 10 years I actually had applied for mson Cores for four years before getting a call once I got interviewed I got a phone call I got hired as a temp for six months summer help I left Walmart salary position for a chance to hope to make a full-time position with molon I worked that six months after which at the end of the season I was let go released my time had been served six weeks later I got a phone call had another interview had a job offer full-time position I made it I remember for getting that call being so excited I remember my daughter there with me she stands here today my dad who's also here with me Samuel Bard he works for M closures as well he's been there 23 years within August 24 years sorry we currently have great insurance I remember falling off of my parents insurance whenever I turned 18 years old had nothing however with the implementation and federal mandating of Obamacare she is able to be carried on my insurance until she's 26 she's very fortunate the insurance that we have is wonderful sadly the company is constantly trying to take that away from us each time we go to the bargaining table they bring up once more taking away team care and offering Us corporate insurance this package that they offer us more than doubles the deductible so any of us that have family plans would next to never be able to meet that deductible in order for our insurance who actually pick up for us to to uh get the help and health care we need furthermore when we do ask for other deta details and specifics of this corporate insurance they offer so that we can review it and give um we provided with the information to make a good decision they refused to give us any of that information to review which makes it hard to negotiate on top of that molon cores only offered us this past Sunday a137 raise across a three-year contract but with the cost of living increase as follows 2.8% in 2019 1.6% in 2020 1.3% in 2021 5.9% in 2022 8.7% in 2023 and finally a 3.2% in 2024 totaling 23 and a half% increase over the last six years we say that's barely a race we're not asking for the world we're just asking for what we deserve we're asking for a fair contract negotiated and good faith and these are just two of the examples of molsen core's poor negotiation efforts I'll briefly share a bit of an article that was published on Molen core's website where they speak about the board of directors authorizing a $2 billion repurchase program over 5 years the new the company's new acceleration plan builds off the successes molon cor has achieved under its revital plan since 2019 the company's leadership team outlined during the strategy day the plan centers on Five Pillars one of these pillars is to support its people communities and planet they don't do that the company has had us on the strike line for 11 weeks now refusing to negotiate in good faith each time we've come to the table trying to make progress they give us a regressive offer at best we ask you guys does this sound like a company that takes care of their people thank you for your time thank you much Lu our next speaker is Bob Willoughby followed by Thomas Hamilton scking around I I got it upside down okay this is from last this has been going on for three weeks I've asked question I know y'all can't read this out there that's okay that's good this is CCP funds it says clearly people be disqualified if they ask for more than 300,000 well there's six of these on the CCP funds that ask for more than 300,000 some over a million dollars more a couple of million dollars that's a lot of money but here's the problem you've not answered mayor mdy Parker you you're on the board you not replied I would call this this is where it goes from a question to corruption is what it goes to and as long as you don't answer it's 100% corruption and when you're talking about $2 million and you're not answering that's terrible let's change this out right quick okay okay I know you can't read this out here this an email from the city I need you to clarify this for me Maddie I know how y'all pay attention to what I'm saying here you really you're really focus in on this stuff usually have your heads down and doing something you said something about the director of Co you won't play my video I had a PL I was there censorship ship here big time and I got to correct the guy I spoke earlier about how we love Free Speech if we love Free Speech we let you take away our right to speak at City Council meetings and you did this is not a council meeting there's only two Council meetings a month this is a comment meeting it's a big difference Charles you got to know the difference you don't know what what you're doing this is a comment meeting anyway you don't answer it either one of them but we had pre speech at the council meeting we don't have it no more okay so now what I want to clarify here though Michelle G is not doing her job she's director of community and public engagement does not answer questions run away from the camera and you warn me not to go after Michelle not to email her not talk to her none of that okay no one's bothering Michelle Michelle done clarify Maddie that you're the reason why she is breaking the rules that the drawn height neighborhood association is not allowed their boundaries because of you you're the reason you're the mayor and you're interfering with the neighborhood association and that's dirty okay now second thing when we got last week you said a bunch of lies about me which would been in a video at play tonight I had a video and you would not allow that to play okay that's censorship that's not free speech TR that's censorship and I got news for you any of you people that serve anybody that sered for our military and we vote against the people's right to speak which we have a few up here council members that vote against our freedom of speech in this Hall that's treason that is that is a traitor that's not a vet that's a traitor to our country and that's not free speech okay clarify can we talk about Michelle here can't talk about her here okay no that's what I wanted to clarify are you done Bob next speaker is Thomas Hamilton followed by George Charles is Mr Hamilton here no next speaker is George Charles my name is George B Charles I live in Fort Worth on April 26th I read an oped piece by a current council member in Fort Worth magazine for February 13th 2024 which read in pertinent part quote we must make every effort in every facet to guard our democracy which means listening and tolerating the opinions of others unquote and quote understanding when the ideals of others might differ from our own unquote on the same day I read an interview in Fort Worth report for April 22nd 2023 in which a current council member stated quote if you're just trying to reach for three minutes of fame at a meeting to promote yourself or look or lob personal attacks then I have no time for that nonsense unquote and quote I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of those citizens who have true problems and concerns with City policy unquote this is of course the same council member specifically that of District 3 I suggest that this displays a glaring dichotomy one that only possibly possibly can be healed by defining the word true as used here I further suggest that any definition will inevitably reflect that person's membership in what I think of as the smooth World by that I mean a way of life that while not being perfect provides a very high level of inul insulation from to use his words problems and concerns this time in the context of everyday life of the vast preponderance of people in the smooth world it is normal for someone who has never in his life reli on public transportation to be on the Trinity Metro board of directors in the smooth world it is normal for someone who never did a right face much less heard the singularly unpleasant sound of small arms rounds passing a few feet from his head to be on the nasjrb Fort Worth Regional Coordinating Committee in the smooth World Council Members put on pristine hard hats and turn one shoveler to dirt two if a backup photograph is desired a stage of mockery of the everyday life of those who build and maintain the physical infrastructure of this nation and rare indeed is the member of the smooth world who wonders if he or she will be the next to die after someone who wanted to be a police officer for action and adventure sought them by turning a wellness check into a combat Patrol in closing does the view toward First Amendment activity found in the inevitable found in the interview convey the council members feelings or does that found in the oped I believe his actions toward Adrien last week clearly indicate the former our next speaker is s Arin po followed by David Martinez hello this me Arian po people who stand up and speak out against oppression are the people who can live saying they did everything they could when their grandkids ask what happened to the Palestinians but I know my audience you have no shame we live in a city that doesn't even try to hide its ignorance with districts called White Settlement the foundational concepts of justice and Injustice are very basic yet you support apartheid and a legal occupation how would you feel if soldiers forcibly kicked you out of your home the home that was in your family for Generations my best friend saids I was 12 years old during the 1948 NE the same year the state of Israel was recognized by of course the first time ever President Truman zionists had already violently expelled over half the Palestinians population Banning their return and selling their homes quoting absentee landlords now in 2024 we've been complicit in watching over half a year of genocide except now they bomb the entire residential complex with the families in them I only wish that anyone or why not everyone in this room had the Integrity to unlearn and repent when they acquire new information what I see instead are cowards I was under the naive impression that medicine was universally sacred I thought that the explicit targeting of medical infrastructure wouldn't be tolerated or at least condemned but 100 Healthcare facilities these 36 hospitals deliberately destroyed thousands of healthcare providers intentionally targeted every single University decimated Americans treat their dogs better than they treat Palestinian children and you have the audacity to be silent and complicit while Palestinians are being slaughtered mercilessly with your weapons and your tax doar tant County still hasn't called for a ceasefire but you gave a proclamation of support to the state of Israel over six months ago if you don't care about Palestinian Muslims then what about the Christians that were bombed in Bethlehem on Easter while you were at church did your church send a prayer genocide isn't a religious issue zionists try to make it one to push their agenda but if you have a conscience and wish to amplify and support victim's voices and speak up against the perpetrator open your eyes educate yourselves and do better listen to Noom Chomsky listen to Norman finklestein or Elon Pape my final message is on behalf of people who support the collective Liberation thank you our next speaker is David Martinez David Martinez followed by Adrien Smith is David here I haven't seen him okay Adrien Smith followed by Valerie Stout Adrien Smith I am one with the people I stand here tonight for my last push as it relates to proposition a that's due to be voted on here this upcoming May 4th by the residents the constituents the people of Fort Worth the taxpayers proposition a a $71 million renovation project as it relates to the Fort Worth man Convention Center so I looked at the visit Fort Worth's uh website and it lists 1,728 hotels okay now you all this little flyer this little thing this impersonal thing I call it impersonal because as our elected representatives you should have been coming out to the community explain why we need this but no what do you do you take a little flyer you send you spend money on this taxpayer money put a couple of faces on here to get us to sustained Adrian just I well I'll add your time back I just want to clarify I'll give your time back I just want to clarify for the audience we're actually legally not allowed to speak on proposition a and we're not prohibited from using taxpayer dollars it's a completely separate entity but you can continue he was at 1 minute 52 seconds thank you so as I stand here it says that uh one thing one thing it says is job Creations now job Creations will be shortterm considering anything hosted at the convention center is not long-term also vendors will have to bid for said contracts now if the state because you all said a 17% occupancy tax on hotels the state already allocates that right you all could have just voted that in without even without even having to okay shake your head do all that but this what this is this is why we're here because you all should have been explaining this so allocated by the state again you all could have voted that in and if I'm wrong then you all have to get on Rec make the corrections but again you all needed something from the people and you know you couldn't do this without the people so I'm a no vote I already voted I voted second day of early voting I already voted no I'm a no vote so I'm asking the people who haven't voted please to vote no please to vote no please to vote no and it says no impact on current property taxes sure you're right there's no impact on current property taxes because you all previous previously voted to increase them so you didn't lie about that and en closing I take my my last 30 seconds in EN closing I think you all owe the residents the constituents the people that put you in office uh answer as it relates to Mr Turner I don't know his tenure here with the fort wor with the city of Fort Worth but just some for someone just to up and resign without giv explanation you know it calls for pause you know as to what what what was going on and I asked the confidential discuss a public for you are out of order and uninformed conclusion of your time thank you our next speaker is Valerie Stout followed by farel T hello Valerie Stout um I am only here because I tried to email my District 8 person they didn't email me back I tried emailing the mayor I've tried calling leaving a voicemail for District 8 they didn't call me back I'll share that I I will say Council M's father passed away yesterday so he's been out of the office with his Dad he was terminally ill a month ago I'll share that with him but thank you happy yeah now I'm now we're public which is not my favorite thing but here we are um so I was here in 2019 January 2019 after a developer in my neighborhood excavated my lot they did not survey the property before they started Excavating and is it at this address Valerie that's listed here is a different address I can get it from you afterward if it's not it is a lot that neighbors that okay thank you so yeah very close to that um anyway it took they had bulldo three times on my property by the time I came last time in 2019 to discuss it Betsy price was mayor she sent me with the director of um development at that time we had discussion did some emails couple years later to December 2022 that developer company had sold the lot next door to mine to a different lenar and then lenar came and bulldozed on my property they came six feet in they were doing erosions grading things like that um now my property is about 3 feet higher than their property and they created this weird slope and they came like 68 ft in onto my property probably unknowingly at the time I went out there I said hey that's not your lot that's my lot they moved I told them to fix it they didn't fix it quite well enough they're still 3 4 feet into the lot now grass has grown up it has this giant slope between the Lots I can't mow that grass it's impossible for me to maintain that without the potential of injury I have emailed them this is still a problem you're still past the property line come and fix it they have come surveyed they found they messed up and we're in a state where I'm asking just to repair right just put my property back the great it was and the level it was where I can mow it um the first developer was a real estate lawyer who now seems to be involved whether he's um like representing him I don't know but he's back involved I would like to when they have meetings because things are going to have to be approved when they do repair this lot I would like to be involved in those meetings work has been done on my Lots um that the city approved I was never as a property owner I was never told there was a meeting about this this work that's done on my Lots I was never notified that the work was going to happen it's like one day and that's this is a different area than the lot we're talking about but one day they just show up and they're here to tear up my property and I've never had a chance to discuss anything put my you know as the property owner put my word into it or even be notified it's going to happen thank you Valerie I think Dana berdoff is waving her hand right here she's an assistant city manager she's aware of the issue and I think she's going to grab you now and talk a little bit about and see what we can do to help you right now than yes thank you very much our next speaker is farel tab good evening Council please excuse my voice today in the state of Texas we have two state senators 38 congressional district Representatives 150 state representatives 31 state senators and now here in for worth 11 council members I bring that up just to mention that that is quite a few politicians who choose to ignore us don't tell me I don't follow procedure because each prep representative has been called each Senator has been left sometimes over 500 voicemails a day every person has been contacted and we have been given either no response or the same response which is we are not changing and we are allies to Israel you know I have come here multiple times almost every meeting to tell you that none of you have stood up to take a stand out of 11 members one of you should be able to stand up and say let us take a stand that is for the right of humanity the state of Hawaii became the first official state to call for a ceasefire nearly unanimously passing 24 members of the Senate and 48 members of their of the House of Representatives that is an incredibly High approval rate and yet I can't convince one council member to speak with me about this I have asked I have made inquiries to offices and count to meet with you council members oneon-one and I'm still not surprised that I'm not getting anything but at least I can say that you are not ignorant of what the problem is this is a City who should be representing its people Texas is made up of 30 million people all of those politicians are failing to take up arms when their people are mobilizing we have three universities that are protesting today UNT UTD and UTA Taran County needs to take action Fort Worth is a major historical City who should be proud in making history do not deny yourselves and the city the chance to take a position that will finally lead Texas in the right direction please look into your hearts have courage and let's make a difference thank you very much for your time our next speaker is Asia jfrey followed by Jim DeLong hello again Council since you haven't listened to me any other time I'm here maybe just because I'm a kid I want to give the testimonies of Dr Sida and Dr pum pumer who are are s trauma surgeons who work on missions as humanitarian trauma surgeons we have both incredible suffering collectively we've been present on ground zero on 911 Hurricane Katrina the Boston Marathon bombing and the 2010 earthquake in Hades on the first day of those disasters we have worked in in the deis of South Zimbabwe the horrors of the war in Ukraine together we have worked on over or 40 surgical missions in developing countries on three continents and our com combined 57 and years of volunteering this long experience has taught us there's no greater pain than as a humanitarian surgeon than being unable to provide needed care to a patient that was before coming to Gaza now we know pain the pain of being unable to treat a child who will slowly die but also alone because she's the only surviving member of an entire extended family we have not the heart to tell these children of how they families died burned until they can resemble nothing but blistered hot dogs more than humans treaded to Pieces such as they can only be buried in Mass Graves or simply inomed in their former homes to die solely of aspia and seus so you're telling us that not taking not putting out a ceasefire is taking aside no being neutral is putting out a ceasefire ceasefire now [Applause] here is Jim Delong followed by Emanuel ma good evening my name is Jim dong and my topic tonight is not a red ball I'm sure you all be lad about that but it's on choices and I've given a uh short list of choices you could go on and on with this list and the reason why I'm doing that is if you notice the this list has nothing to do with ideology has nothing to do with race nothing to do with Creed nothing to do with color it has to do with character and it has to do with personal choices that we choose to make we can either love or we can hate we can be a giver we can be a taker we can forgive or we can hold a grudge we can hope or be in despair we can be an optimist or be a pessimist we can be better or we can get bitter we can choose and strive for Recon ilation or retribution and I was walking up the steps probably the most important one is we could be for peace or we could be for strife and why do I say this because there's a lot of dissension in our country there's a there's a lot of people fighting one another those who are fighting will tend to be on the right side of this list the those who are trying to be a part of the solution tend to be on the right side of this list and I want to encourage all of you up here and I thank you for your service I thank you for the hours that you spend every week away from family and home on the meager salary that you get I I don't know how you can do it but I thank you for your service and my encouragement is to you in our city let's choose hope let's choose to be a forgiver let's choose to be a giver let's choose to be an optimist and be better these are all choices independent of our race Creed or color but fundamentally important for our survival thank you our next speaker is Manuel ma followed by arcelin Joffrey my name is uh Manuel Mata I live in District 9 and first and foremost I want to give glory to God for me being able to stand here before you and say this for the past four years I've exposed 25 Patrol officers six supervising officers of bad things they've done to me I've it put it on the internet and uh I've had a problem expressing how this made me feel until recently I just explained to you a number of police officers and it only took one police officer to show me a different understanding because not only did he change my view about the footw police department he led me to God that's why I'm able to sit here and say that uh some of you when y'all understand people and when y'all listen to them do like I do now I don't listen to the person that's standing before me I listen to their heart their intent the reason why they took time out of their day to come before you because something in their neighborhood no one's listening so if I'm able to put aside that many number of police officers right because I've done it for four plus years and for the past 3 months I've been in church I've been volunteering my time to give back to my community that I destroyed years ago so if I'm able to do that and not only Overlook police officers they're still doing it today and be together with one police officer in my neighborhood and give back to it what's keeping everybody from listening to these people's heart what their intent is when they stand before you it doesn't matter if y'all don't like what they say or how they say it to you look into their heart the way they're saying it to you because I promise you I still don't agree with the way the forward police department works and I've dedicated my time my free time I'm supposed to be in jail right now for 180 days for a crime I got convicted of in this court and by the grace of God and over 2,000 people of my church pray I'm able to sit here and tell all of y'all if y'all don't do it no one's going to listen to y'all ever again remember that have it in your hearts these people don't have no one else to say it to who else is listening companies police officers organizations in their neighborhood don't pay attention you're their last hope [Applause] our speaker is Arsen Joffrey followed by Bill Bergen I [Music] phone good evening so as a recap uh the following is now status quo domicide destruction of homes memoricide destruction of culture and artifacts scolastici side destruction of the learning environment herbicide destruction of the urban environment pedde destruction of the child population and profits over people it's now day 206 of the live stream of the genocide in Gaza all right we are now selective on International laws and treaties uh consulates are no longer Sovereign territory and the UN coun Security Council resolutions are no longer binding um let's see here uh we are now selective on federal law uh we do not provide military aid to groups that violate human rights uh but it's okay because we decide if people are human or not okay uh we are now selective on state law uh our public universities were provided Extra Protection for spe spe free speech in 2019 and now we send DPS to break up kids in a drum circle uh we know your conditioning makes it hard for you to take us seriously uh but our warnings have been panning out we had told y'all friends don't let friends commit genocide back in February uh that's now a common refrain uh from Israeli genocide Scholars um please make it a priority to listen to us just like M was saying the city council appears to be the last set of adults in the proverbial proverbial government room uh please step up and do the right thing a ceasefire resolution is the least of what needs to be done um y'all now need to be guaranteeing our basic freedoms what's happening is the the proverb of how to domesticate a wild hog you take away International treaties that's the first fence you take away federal law that's the second fence you take away state law that's the third fence and now if the city doesn't do anything you're gonna box us all in and have us pigs to be ready for Slaughter ceasefire now our next speaker is by phone bill Bergen Mr Bergen yes go ahead please hello can you hear me can you hear me yes we can you have three minutes hello okay uh I didn't know if you hear me or not I'm about 25 miles east of Paris uh hate that I'm not there because I can't see faces while I'm talking and every time I do this I always get distracted so I have to start off by thanking everyone for doing such a great job thanking the mayor thanking the council David Cook I appreciate all that you guys do uh it's a great City it's a great place to be especially want to uh tip my hat tonight to Charlie uh for uh working on the project there with the school looks like that's going to be a happy ending uh Allen's been putting on a big fight out there on the batch plant and uh as some of you know out there in 10 we had the opportunity to welcome uh HB uh so it's a great asset to our city uh and uh uh just as I said before once again thanks again thanks again for everything you do now let's go back to what I originally want to speak about and that's uh Mr Chris finel uh I brought this up once before I believe it was in November I can't see any faces so I don't know if you guys are nodding at me or shaking your head no or looking away or what's going on but I want to bring this up again uh he is the artist that uh uh was responsible for the sculptors that are on uh the median in uh North Fort Worth on Beach Street uh there has never been anything done publicly to recognize him uh I really think that it's a shame uh that we've not taken the time to recognize him to have him hear have him discuss the work that he did there's a theme behind each one of these pieces and I think that it uh we're doing him a disservice by not having him out I think the people that live in the area want to know something about this art where did it come from who did it and also we need to let the other folks in the rest of the uh uh great City of Fort Worth to be aware of of what this man has done and uh the uh landmarks if you will that he's left us and uh I I would just like to see something done I'd like for someone to raised their hand and direct me to the right person to find out what we need to do or if necessary if we need to take public funds to do something to uh recognize this gentlemen uh I can't see the clock so I don't know how much time I left but once again thanks again for all that you guys do and uh I appreciate each and every one of you uh and uh keep up the good work thank you Bill I'll have someone reach out to you about the public art question our next speaker is JD Jimmerson followed by Elva kamacho I want to say good afternoon to everyone that's in attendance and giving honors to uh council members want to say thank you for being there I come to follow up on a request about a noise ordinance that's has not been addressed and I want to say thanks callers for the meeting that we had and and the results that we found that there have not been in perment issue all right so the protest that I've been bringing forth for the past two years stating that um I received notices at my front door by officials from the city stating that an event was been done and had been permitted is not true I am a member of the fourth grade in North Side previously I'm not not for the past 3 months I'm not but I am a um I'm just an advocate for that area but whenever I make a statement to those people and it cannot be verified and they're been told different things by police officers that are contrary to what I know to be fact my word doesn't mean nothing because they not going to accept what I say because of who I am I'm asking that call if you Contin need to work that issue for me and get some results so I can tell those people that what I was saying was correct and that we can take some proper action and reduce those violations and and noises in that area basically I'm here to say thank you and acknowledge the research that we did on the past week and ask that you continue to provide the information that that's true and relevant that affects disturbances and noises in that area thank you thank you Mr Jimerson our next speaker is Elva kamacho I have something to get to you guys here can you pass them out please to them thank you good evening my name is Ela kamacho I'm the president of the T County Republican Hispanic assembly first transgenderism does to our communities AEL work Abel's work has led to laws being passed such as s sp14 in Texas which made it illegal for anyone below the age of 18 to get transgender treatment now I was one of a six toadal of organizations that came together uh for this uh event that was put together we it was shut down we found out the day before and thank you Maddie for getting back with me cuz we had a lot of people calling regarding this uh this issue and I passed around to you guys um a constitution uh miniature Constitution because our VI our rights were violated that day and if you guys will turn to your pamphlets uh the pages hold on let me get my glasses here it would be page 19 on the books that I gave you on the First Amendment and I've been up here and I've read this before I amendments the ones that I'm the one that I'm referring to tonight is the first amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibit iting the free exercise thereof or Bridging the freedom of speech or of the press or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to and to petition the government for a redress of grievances you guys violated our first
