well thank you and welcome again to the mesa city council meeting for august the 22nd of 2022 all members of our council are present for this meeting uh we will begin our meeting with an invocation offered by pastor tina mills of our savior's lutheran church followed by the pledge of allegiance that we're excited today will be led by senior patrol leader scout bryce waller so please stand for the invocation and remain standing for the pledge of allegiance good evening thank you thank you mayor giles almost said pastor that shows my my vocation thank you it's an honor to be here tonight um before we begin i invite us all to take a deep breath of cleansing and centering and then i will offer the invocation spirit of grace and wisdom we call upon you to be present this evening with all of those whom this community has entrusted with leadership as they seek to make decisions that will lead the communities of mesa in an even brighter direction give the members of this council those who are present with them this evening and all who will carry out the council's vision your wisdom and your compassion to seek the best for all people bless this space and the business that is conducted here may it create a community in which all thrive through the peace and light of love we pray amen amen please join me in the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states our agenda for tonight's meeting is the appointment of you my umayyok nobel as a mesa city magistrate so but before we do that and give her our congratulations and and we should probably entertain a the city of mesa if you had asked me 30 years ago when i graduated westwood high school if i would be here tonight i would not have believed it i also want to thank judge tatz and for entrusting me to be a judge pro tem for the last couple years and recently helping me to train and to be in the community court it is humbling and it's an amazing opportunity to watch these individuals who have gone through so much through the support of our community members who are in navigators and the court staff to graduate and we have to hold back the tears every time we have a graduation um also to all the judges present thank you so much for being here it is an honor to work with you and the team at the court and and to my family my mom and my husband and my kids and my friends here i thank you so much for all your love and support over the years and again thank you for this opportunity to serve the city thank you you know i i'm i'm pleased that you're you're uh your peers from the corridor here we're we're very proud of our city court magistrates and and our mesa city court so thank you for being here to support uh judge novell uh you are a great mesa success story you're going to inspire a item on the consent agenda no requests all right thank you i see we have a motion made by mr freeman seconded by mr luna please vote on the consent agenda thank you that passes unanimously uh next items on our agenda are agenda items 11c and 11d unless there's an objection we'll uh we'll i'll entertain one motion for those two cases uh and these are subdivision plots 11c is within the 7800 block of east elliott road and the 3600 to 3800 block of south haas road uh agenda item 11d is uh the 79 to 8300 block of east eliot road and the 3600 block of south house road is there any discussion on this agenda item mr thompson mary i asked for these people these both are related to the haws crossing and because i did not support any uh residential development inside haws crossing i will continue to vote no on any project that is residential that comes in on haas crossing all right thank you any additional discussion all right is there a motion for approval thank you mr lunas made
