THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR THAT THE CITY OF BLOOMINGTON HAS SPONSORED THIS COMPETITION. LAST YEAR WE HAD SCRAMBLING EGG THE FACT THAT THE FAST FAST CASUAL BREAKFAST JOINT IT OPENED UP RECENTLY ACTUALLY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 2025 COMPETITION AND I'D SAY IT WAS A FAIRLY FAIRLY POPULAR SUCCESSFUL ENDEAVOR IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO SCRAMBLING EGG I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYBODY. YEAR TWO KICKED OFF IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. WE ARE LOOKING TO BRING IN THE RESIDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY IN IN THIS PROCESS SO THERE'S A PUBLIC VOTING COMPONENT AND WE WOULD LIKE TO BUILD THE CITY OF BLOOMINGTON INTO WE WOULD LIKE TO BRING THE CITY OF BLOOMINGTON INTO THE ECONOMY OF THE FUTURE WITH WITH A FOCUS ON SMALL BUSINESSES SORRY SMALL FOR. SO JUST BRIEFLY THROUGH WE RECEIVED ABOUT 50 APPLICATIONS THIS YEAR WE HAD 35 THAT WE THOUGHT WERE COMPLETE ENOUGH TO CONSIDER FOR THE PROGRAM. WE HAD A TOP 25 PITCH EVENT IN JUNE AND THAT NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE TOP TEN COHORT YOU SEE HERE WHICH THEN PITCHED IN JULY. BUT I DO WANT TO TAKE JUST A MOMENT TOO TO CALL OUT HOW IMPRESSIVE IT IS THE WORK THAT WENT INTO THE FOLKS WHO DIDN'T WIN. EMPLOYERS WHO OPEN THEIR DOORS AND KEEP THEIR DOORS OPEN WHEN AN IF AN EMPLOYEE BECOMES DISABLED SEE POSITIVE OUTCOMES AND A HAPPIER WORKFORCE THEIR BUSSE HERE IS DECLARED THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2025 NATIONAL DISABILITY AND PLANNING AWARENESS MONTH AS ANNOUNCEMENT TO HONOR AND CELEBRATE THE ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY . AND SO AS A REMINDER OF THE MORATORIUM THAT WAS ESTABLISHED EXPIRES ON OCTOBER 10TH. SO I WILL VERY BRIEFLY GO THROUGH JUST KIND OF A REHASH OF WHAT THE ORDINANCE IS ACTUALLY ALL THREE ORDINANCES THAT ARE BEFORE YOU INCLUDE WITH THOSE WITH SOME DIFFERENCES. IT INCLUDED REPRESENTATIVES GREEN COULTER AND ELKINS FROM BLOOMINGTON AS WELL AS SENATOR MANN FROM WHO REPRESENTS BLOOMINGTON AS WELL AS HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS MAYOR LOVELAND FROM EDINA AND MYSELF AND WE ALL PARTICIPATED AND IT WAS A VERY GOOD HOUR AND A HALF TWO HOUR DISCUSSION ABOUT POSSIBILITIES, OPTIONS WHAT THE PATH FORWARD MIGHT BE AND I APPRECIATED THE WILLINGNESS OF EVERYBODY TO KEEP THIS TOPIC THIS VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC AT THE FOREFRONT AS WE CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS CONVERSATION BECAUSE I THINK OUR BIGGEST DANGER IN ALL OF THIS IS TO LET THE FIRE GO OUT AND TO BECOME DISTRACTED BY OTHER THINGS LIKE TYLENOL AND THAT KIND OF THING AND JUST TO NOT REALLY KEEP OUR EYE ON THE BALL ON THE IMPORTANT THINGS HERE.
